Chapter
11 (Continues)
{Dissertation
on Broken Branches - Unbelieving Jews}
17-18~~Moreover,
if some of the branches were broken off
{Jewish unbelievers - racial yes, spiritual no}
-
and they were {1st class condition} -
and
you {Gentile believers} being a 'wild olive tree' {agrielaios}
{in
the analogy, wild olive trees do not produce useable fruit -
they must be grafted into a good olive tree to bear fruit},
have
been grafted in among them {Jewish believers}
-
and you have been -
and
have become partners/'co-partakers' {sugkoinonos}
of
both the root {Union with Christ}
and
prosperity {piotes}
{logistical and Super Grace blessing to all Church Age believers}
of
the olive tree
{referring to God's plan for the Church Age} . . . 18~~
stop
'assuming arrogant superiority over'/'boasting over' {katakauchaomai}
{means mentally thinking you are superior to the Jew - best
epitomized by the Nazis 'superior race' attitude}
the
branches {Jewish unbelievers}.
Now
since/'if and it is true'
you
{saved Gentiles} 'are arrogant'/'are assuming arrogant superiority
over {the branch}' {katakauchaomai},
{remember}
that you do not sustain/carry {bastazo}
the
root {Jesus Christ} . . . but the root supports you
{logistical grace/ faith-rest} . . .19~~
you
will say then {oun - conclusion/inference from what proceeds}
{verses 19-20 are the Distortion of Arrogance},
"the
branches {Jewish unbelievers} were broken off, in order that,
I
{arrogant Gentile believer} might be grafted in."
{Note:
In the plan of God, we cannot assist Him. The best we can do is to
allow Him to work through us. It is arrogant to think that you can
help God. He, Jesus Christ, supports us. Arrogance is the cause of anti-Semitism.}
20~~'Quite
right'
{kalos - adverb of sarcasm - on the right track but off a little},
because
of unbelief, they {Israel of the past} were broken off,
and
you {Gentile believers} and only you
stand
- in the past with results that last forever {perfect tense} -
because
of faith {pistis}.
Stop
'thinking arrogant thoughts'/
'being
high-minded' {hupselophroneo}
but,
in contrast {alla} keep having respect {phobeo}.
{Note:
The reason the Jews went out under the 5th cycle of discipline is
stated here - because of unbelief. They rejected the laws of divine
establishment, they rejected their Messiah, and may have rejected God
Himself. But because of their unbelief, they are being punished by
God today. Now then Gentiles have been 'grafted' in to the plan of
God to be His Client nation - to support divine establishments, to
protect the Jews who are persecuted throughout the world, to
evangelize the world. But Gentiles did no 'work' to earn or deserve
this privileged status - it is by the non-meritorious act of FAITH -
so don't be arrogant and think you are better than the Jew who is
under discipline by God - you are not.}
{Note:
Pistis can mean faith, the faith rest technique, or 'that which is
believed' (doctrine). Here it means the faith by which all humans are saved.}
{Note:
Phobeo means fear or respect. Many times in the bible it means to
have respect for God. Here - in contrast to arrogant thinking - it
means to have respect for God, for His chosen race - the Jew, respect
for authority . . . a wife for her husband, children for parents, men
for womanhood, etc.}
{Discipline
of God}
21~~For
since/'if and it is true' {ei}
God
absolutely did not {ouk} spare {pheidomai}
the
natural branches {Jewish unbelievers}
{idiom: literally 'according to nature branches' which does mean
natural branches}
neither
will He spare you.
22~~Therefore,
behold the integrity {chrestotes}
and
severity/judgment {apotomia} of The God.
On
the one hand {men},
to
those who fell {Jewish unbelievers} . . .
severity/judgment
{apotomia};
but
on the other hand {de}
to
you {gentile believers} . . .
the
integrity {chrestotes} of God
{blessings to believers from God} . . .
if
you continue/persist {epimeno}
in
the sphere of the integrity of God - maybe you will, maybe you will
not -
Otherwise
{epei}
you
{gentile believers} also shall be cut off
{from the blessings of being a client nation to God -
referring to the administration of the 5 cycles of discipline}.
{Principal
of Doctrine}
23~~And
in those also
{ekeinos
- a Greek syntactical way to connote hope - not translated}
if
{ean + subjunctive mood - 3rd class condition}
they
do not persist/continue in unbelief
-maybe
they will, maybe they will not -
will
be grafted in,
for
God 'keeps on being able'/'keeps on having the power' {dunatos}
to
graft them in again.
24~~For
you see, since/'if and it is true'
you
were cut off from what is by nature a wild olive tree,
and
grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree,
how
much more
{similar phrase as the Latin A Fortiori - 'with greater reason'}
will
these natural branches be grafted back into their own olive tree?
{Note:
This is another A Fortiori logic. If God can do the 'greater' - to
graft into an olive tree a wild olive branch, then how much easier
for Him to graft the olive trees own branch back in? If He can do the
greater, it follows, using 'A Fortiori' logic, that He can and will
do the less.}
25~~For
I {Paul} do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery,
brethren
{Royal Family of God},
so
that you stop being wise in your own estimation
{idiom: literally 'wise in yourselves' -
means to be arrogant on the basis of ignorance in context}.
A
hardening in part has happened/become {ginomai}
to
Israel until which time
the
fullness {pleroma} of the Gentiles has come in.
26-27~~And
so all Israel shall be delivered/saved {sozo}
{RBT says this refers to the Jewish believers of the Tribulation},
as
it is stands written - in the past with results that last forever -
{combination of Isaiah 59:20 and Isaiah 27:9},
"He
who delivers {o rhoumai - referring to Jesus at His 2nd Advent}
shall
come from Zion {Sion}
{reference to the line of David - Davidic Dynasty}.
He
will 'remove completely' {apostrepho}
'godless
ones'/unbelievers {asebeia} from {apo}
Jacob
{returning to the restored Israel of the Tribulation}. 27~~
Also
this . . . {is} the covenant {diatheke}
with
them from Me,
when
I have removed {aphaireo} their {the Jewish Nation}
'punishment
for sin'/'5th cycle of discipline' {hamartia}
{hamartia - sin - but from the Hebrew 'chatath' we see this is
referring to
'punishment for sin/idolatry' of Jeremiah 31 we see Paul uses it here
for
end of the punishment of the 5th cycle of discipline
and restoration of Israel as the client nation to God at the end of
the
Tribulation}."
{Note:
Why did Paul use 'Jacob' here instead of Israel (Prince of God).
When you want to use the Jews in their racial aspect, he used Jacob
(which means 'chiseler').}
28~~On
the one hand {men}, with reference to {kata}
the
gospel/'good news {about Jesus Christ}' { euaggelion} . . .
{'the
broken branches'/'Jewish unbelievers' are regarded as}
enemies
{echthros} . . .
'because
of you'/'for your sakes'
{for the sake of the 'wild branches grafted in'/'Gentile believers in
Christ'},
but,
on the other hand {de},
'with
reference to' {kata} their election { ekloge} . . .
{they
are} beloved/'dearly loved' { agapetos}
'because
of the fathers'/'for the sake of the fathers'
{referring to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob -
founders of the Jewish race - Israel had a special election
to privilege in the past and will again in the Millennium}.
29~~'For
you see' {explanatory use of gar}
the
'gracious benefits' {charisma} and the calling/election {klesis}
from
the source of God . . . {are} irrevocable.
{Note:
Charisma is formed from the charis which is the Greek word for
'grace'. It means God gives this to mankind 'without strings'. He
provides the benefits. Sometimes the word is translated 'grace gifts'
or 'spiritual gifts from God', but here is referring to the benefits
God gives to His client nations.}
{Note:
Klesis does mean 'calling'. But RBT says here it is a technical use
and should be translated election - as ekloge was translated election
in the verse before.}
30-31~~For
just as at one time
you
all had not believed {apeitheo} in The God,
{Gentile unbelief back when Israel was a client nation to God}
but
now, in contrast, {nun de} have received mercy {eleeo}
because
of the unbelief {apeitheia}
of
those {houtos -the near demonstrative meaning those Jews},
{means the status of client nation to God moved from
Israel to Gentile nations because of the Jews unbelief}; 31~~
so
also these {Jews, no longer the client nation to God}
have
not believed {apeitheo}
in
your time of mercy {eleos - mercy/'grace in action'} . . .
{referring to the Church Age when Gentile nations
are client nations of God and greatly privileged}
in
order that {hina - introduction of a final clause},
they
also might receive mercy
{meaning that the unbelieving Jews might now be evangelized
by the Gentile client nation to God}.
32~~For
the God has 'locked up together all' {sugkleio}
with
reference to disbelief/disobedience {apeitheia}
in
order that {hina}
He
might show mercy {eleeo - mercy/'grace in action'} to all.
{Note:
RBT says this verse is referring to the sin of Adam that is passed
to each human being at birth. We are all born together spiritually
dead. We are all condemned by that sin of Adam (see Romans 5). That
is also why a child that dies before reaching the age of
accountability can go to heaven - forgiveness cannot precede
condemnation! Since, they are born condemned, they can be forgiven
and imputed with His divine righteousness, which is required to live
with Him in heaven forever.}
{Definition
of Divine Wealth}
33~~Oh,
the inexhaustibility/depth {bathos}
of
the wealth/riches {ploutos} . . .
both
the wisdom {sophia}
and
knowledge {gnosis}
of
God!
{True wisdom is thought . . . concepts in the soul. And,
the highest form of knowledge is knowing divine viewpoint
as He gave it to us in His Word}
How
inscrutable/unfathomable/'to deep to understand'
{anexereunetos - literally 'depth beyond the ability to see'} . . .
{are/'keeps
on being'} His decrees { krima},
and
His Ways . . . untrackable { anexichniastos}!
{Note:
Krima is in the passive tense. It means 'that which is being
evaluated/judged'. And it is His plan/decrees which are in place.}
{Quotation
of Principal from Isaiah 40:13-14}
34~~For
who then has known { ginosko}
the
mind {nous} of the Lord {Kurios},
or
who has been His advisor/counselor {sumboulos}?
{Note:
These two rhetorical questions taken from Isaiah 40:13-14 were
answered 'no one' prior to Christ and now I Corinthians 2:16 tells us
that the only one who can know the Lord is the one who studies His
Mind - the Mind of Christ/The Word of God - the revealed thought of
God. And, no one is or ever has been a counselor or advisor.}
{Principal
of Job 41:11}
35~~Or
who has 'given before'/'first given' {prodidomi} to God,
'that
God needs to recompense/'pay back' {antapodidomi} him
{idiom: literally 'and it should be paid back to him'?
{Note:
In this context, all valuable knowledge (wealth) came first from God.
We can not ever think that we first gave to God and now He 'owes' us
in return. And, wealth to God is THOUGHT. So, in spiritual giving, it
is the thought/motivation behind the giving that is important not the
amount. You must keep your eyes on the source of your personal wealth
(God), not on the fruits of the blessings (details of life - money,
friends, status, etc.) from God.}
36~~For
'all {things} {pas} . . .
{are/keep
on being'}
'from
the source of' {ek} Him . . .
and
'through the agency of' {dia} Him . . .
and
for/to/toward {eis} Him.
The
glory {therefore} . . .
{belongs/is/'keeps
on being'} to Him
forever!
Amen/'I
believe it'/'So be it'.)
