Note: Wade came to Texas in 1832 or 1833. He served in the Army of the Repuplic of Texas,He joined Capt. Scurlock's Company in July 1836, Was Transferred to Capt.Richard Hoopers company, and was mustered out in Oct. 1836, under Capt. Posey who took command when Hooper was elected to the Legislature. and was given 320 acres of land in Shelby Co. for settling in Texas he recieved one league and one labor of land in Panola Co. Tex.
Wade also was a TEXAS RANGER and served with his brothers in law Peter Tumlinson and Squire Humphreys.

Note: Martin was in the Army Infantry 3rd. Texas Copany E. from 1861 to 1863.Starting rank Crpl. discharged rank 2nd. Lt. He served at Fort Riggold at Roma,Texas near Rio Grande City. This protected a vital trade route to the southern states through Mexico. After he returned from thee war he became the 1st. school teacher in Wilson Co.And later became an elder in the Stockdale Church of Christ.
