---Current S13 240SX pictures---
August 2006 -

While it's true that I just updated the modification list on the 240SX page, that list doesn't tell the whole story.  A little over a year ago, during the summer of 2005, I did a lot of work to the car.  I added suspension links, an LSD, new brakes, and a few other things.  While this was going on, I failed to notice the leaking brake master cylinder that was causing the frame rail below it to lose its paint and start to rust.  By the time I noticed it, there was a hole in the strut tower, by the frame rail!  I could actually look through the spokes of the driver's side front wheel and see the turbo...

I had been saving towards paint and bodywork for some time; I did some research and decided that it would be less expensive to purchase a clean chassis and swap my engine and all of the other go-fast parts into it.  On Labor Day 2005, I drove the new car home from Huntington WV and got to work.  The entire swap took several months, including swapping all of the stock parts from the new car into the old red car and getting it running in order to sell it.  I actually made money on the deal :)

Finally, in February of 2006, after getting the car running and replacing almost the entire power steering system in search of a gremlin, I was ready to send the car off to have it painted.  After a lot of thought, I chose a dark silver/gray color that is available on current Infiniti cars.  The color is called Diamond Graphite Metallic.  I had originally planned to paint the car red, since the old chassis was red to start with and since I had never seen even a picture of a red S13 with Silvia front end.  I'm glad I changed my mind; this way the car is a bit more understated, and I'm very happy with it.
Freshly painted, washed and waxed.  These pics were taken at my father's house, during the SERCA '06 weekend.
Rolling shot, taken by my buddy Saaby, from the front seat of his turbo Sentra SE-L, a VERY nice car...
Sunset pic, in my own driveway...
The S13, like any project or hot-rod, is far from finished.  Stay tuned for interior shots, engine bay shots, and pictures of my recently completed gauge install.  The immediate future may bring a big-brake upgrade, and the car REALLY needs tires.  I am doing some soul-searching about whether to upgrade the turbo; more power would be nice, but the car is fast as it is, and it's also reliable; I'm not sure I want to give up the dependability I've tried so hard to build into it.
