On November 16, 2002, fifteen fan club members celebrated Derek's birthday with him for the second time since the establishment of the club. That was two days before his actual birthday. |

The party took place in a Chinese restaurant in Hong Kong. A private area was secluded with movable screens for the party. hey had Chinese hot pot, birthday cake, and Chinese birthday steam buns. Derek had a big appetite that night. He ate throughout the party. |

Not much detail about the conversation was released. What had been told was Derek had sleeping problems for over ten years. Concerned members offered their remedies. They also talked about how and why they liked Derek. Birthday presents to Derek included a backpack and a crystal pendent. |

The party ended after mid-night. Everybody had a great time.
