Chapter List
My ears perked up and I ran to the door of the barracks and looked out. My eyes widened at the sight of almost a dozen more guards running towards us. I looked back in at everyone.
Hey! Everybody! Nobody heard me. Lads! Cmon now! Still nobody listened. I growled and shook my head. I then whistled loudly for everybodys attention. They all looked over at me.
Finally. Now, theres almost a dozen o those savages eaded our way! Lets get a move on it! I yelled to them. They nodded then grabbed whatever they could and ran past me out of the doors. I looked around, thinking quickly.
Alright, you ead out into the forest! I looked at Charlie who was standing by my side. I put a hand on his shoulder.
Charlie, I wan you to go with them into the forest. I said to him. Charlie looked up at me.
Butbut I wanted t stay with you. He said to me. I sighed.
Look, Charlie, Ill catch up to ya later. Im just going to make sure these tyrants dont get to us after we escape. I told him. He nodded slowly then ran off with the others. I looked around.
Terrance, Damien. I called to them. Damien came over and Terrance looked over at me.
Wha is it, Renard? Damien asked me.
We need to find some way to old off these humans. I said. I tried to think of something but it came out blank.
I go it! Said Damien. I looked at him.
Wha is it? I asked. Damien looked at me then inside at Terrance.
You. You need to get up onto the roof. He said to him. He then looked at me.
We need you to go inside and lea them in. Once theyre in then Terrancell lift ya out through one o them big holes an Ill lock the pests in. I nodded.
Thas a good idea, Damien. I said to him. Terrance nodded in agreement then turned his attention back to the guard he still held. Terrance let him go then hit him hard in the back of the head, knocking him unconscious. He then leaned down and undid the guards belt and put it around his own waist then put the dagger in the sheath.
Damien ran around the side of the barracks and hid behind the wall while Terrance ran around and climbed up onto the roof using some food crates. I stood out front in plain view of the approaching guards. I looked the group over. Most had clubs, but there were two of them who held swords. I watched them nervously. If thi dont work then Ill be deader than a nail I thought to myself. Once they were close enough and I was sure they could see me I started backing up slightly as if I were panicked. I then took off right into the barracks and looked behind me to the door. Two by two the guards spilled into the barracks.
Youre going to die now, fox!
Wai unti ah ge my ands on you!
Quite yappin an just kill im!! They kept coming in at me. I backed up against the wall and looked around.
Terrance. Terrance where are you? I asked myself. The last guard soon entered and no later had he gone in did the door slam shut and the locks lock. The guards looked back and began pounding on the door.
ey! I looked up and saw Terrance looking at me through one of the holes in the ceiling.
Its abou time! I said. He reached down and I jumped up and grabbed his arms and he easily pulled me up and out.
We climbed off the roof and met Damien at the front. We could hear the guards pounding on the door and on the walls trying to get out. I smiled at Damien and Terrance.
Well we did it. Were free. I said to them. Damien smiled and put his arm around my shoulder.
An we owe it all to you, Renard. He said to me. I looked at him, confused.
Whys that? I asked.
Well, ad you not gone off an pulled tha stunt when they were carryin me away then I wouldn be ere. An ad you not started a fight with those guards then nobody else would ave either. Terrance said to me. I smiled at him. This was the first time he had really complimented me.

Ah but it wasnt just me. I ad two good friends to elp me out with it. I said to them. I patted Terrance on the back and looked at Damien.
Cmon, lets get out o ere. I said to them. We then walked off into the forest where the others had gone. We only hoped that they didnt go too far.
