Sentry 2050 Scanner Instructions

 

·        Turn scanner on

·        Hold down button until it says “Load Key”

·        Place answer key on tray and send through scanner

·        It should now say KEY at the bottom

·        Get class set of answer sheets ready for that test

·        Send student answer sheets through one at a time

·        Send Item Analysis sheet through with that teacher’s name at the top

·        Send Class Roster sheet through if desired

 

·        Repeat process for each class, beginning with holding down the button until it says “Load Key”

 

·        When finished with each class in that grade level, fill in the Rescore bubble on the top of the Answer Key

·        Hold down the button until is says “Load Key”

·        Place answer key for the same test through the scanner

·        Now send through all student answer sheets for that grade level for that test

·        Send Item Analysis sheet through

·        The information on this Item Analysis sheet will be used for reporting scores

·        Take the average score at the bottom (use basic rounding if necessary) and convert it to a percent (See chart)

·        This percentage will be recorded on the Quarterly Accountability Progress Report

 

 

 

 

Other Information about the Scanner

·        Will perform grading, surveys, and balloting

·        If you need additional supplies, check with Dr. Bradshaw’s office before ordering

·        Check to make sure scanner is working 1 week before testing begins

 

Service and Repair:

·        If the “Clean Read Head” light comes on:

o       Take off the top

o       Loosen the thumb screw

o       Very carefully wipe with damp cloth

·        If the “Service” light comes on:

o       Press and hold button down and then turn scanner on

o       Send through the 5 sheets from the calibration pack

o       Can reuse these sheets

·        To make a service call:

o       Use the number on the front of the scanner

o       You will need the serial number from the back of the scanner

o       If necessary, they will send a new scanner

o       Keep power cord, input/output trays, and ink cartridge

 

Answer Sheets:

·        Use # 2 pencils

·        Reading and English/Language Arts will be on the same answer sheet

o       Reading 1-30 (front)

o       English/Language Arts 51-80 (back)

·        Math will be on a separate answer sheet
