PROFILE AND CROSSECTION

Instrument

  1. Telescope
  2. Telescope Stand
  3. Steel Tape
  4. Staff Rod
  5. Bubble Staff

Objective

- profile of open floor
- cross section of ladder
- plot of profile & x - section
by manual and by ms - excel
- calculation by stadia reading

Profile

The process of profile leveling obtains the elevations of a series of points along continueous line such as roadssewers drains. The elevation are required at every 25 metre station. These elevation when plotted show a vertical section of the surface.

Crossection

Crossection are line of levels or short profile made perpendicular to the center line of project. These elevation when plotted show a longitude section of the surface.

Intermediate foresight

Once a level has been set up and leveled, a backsight taken, any number of foresight can be read for the purpose of determining elevations of various points without moving the level. Foresight that do not establish turning points are called intermediate foresight (IFS).

PROFILE AND CROSSECTION

1.Set up the instrument reading to staff at bench mark (BM1).
2.Turn the telescope reading at one point the member is IFS .
3.Reading next other point. Then reading foresight at TP1.
4.Move the instrument to ahead . Reading backsight at TP1 and IFS at other point.
5.After reading point. Back to reading at BM2.
6.Calculate and adjusting error.
7.Plot elevation and distance on paper graph.
