TWO PEGS TEST

Instrument

  1. Telescope
  2. Telescope Stand
  3. Steel Tape
  4. Staff Rod
  5. Bubble Staff

Objective

- check for collimation error
- calculation of c factor
- optimization of BS $ FS
- decision of accept / decline of leveling work

TWO PEGS TEST

1.Establish 2 points 60 to 90 metres apart on reasonably level ground .
2.Set the level up half way between the 2 points .
3.Take the 2 staffs reading .The difference between the 2 reading will give the true difference in height between 2 pegs .
4.Move the level as close as possible to one of pegs .
5.Take the 2 staffs reading again .
6.Calculate the collimation correction or c-factor or Cf
