| My name is Shirley Delk Roberts. I was born and raised in Casey County, Kentucky on July 16, 1943. I now live in Mercer County.I have always loved the written word as far back as I can remember. I write poetry, short stories and am currently working on a novel of my own, plus one with another person. I had a poem published in Life Imitating Arts in the Nov/Dec Issue this past year. The poem was called ' Back In Black.' I also have a short story called ' Blackberry Picking Time ' to be published in the July 2003 Special Edition of Good Old Days Magazine and a poem being considered by Birds and Blooms Magazine this summer. It's called ' Painted Poetry. ' I have several others out there on the market being considered for publication also. Oh yes I have had some rejections, but I never let that discourage me or stop me from going forward. |
| I am the mother of six grown children of my own, Three girls-Carmela, Penny and Julie. Three boys-Jeffrey, Leslie and Michael. I am married to Gary and stepmother to his three daughters, Jennifer, Dannielle and Lauren. Two boys, Gary Jr. and Nathan.Together we have ten grandchildren. Mine are Ashley, Justin, Jesse ,Jake, Cody, Christian and Jaron. Gary's are Nathan Jr., Bryce and Jade.Gary's children live in CT., but mine are all close by. Gary is retired from the U.S. Navy. |
| We have a three year old Pom named Nick, a black and white cat named Kitt Katt.[she is 10 years old] We also have two Zebra Finches named Edith and Archie. |
