The first AFROdisiac event happened on May 5, 2000 at The Triple 1 Gallery in Kensington, Johannesburg. It was Marc's first one-man show. The exhibition was called "POETIC GESTURES" and included 21 of Marc's pen and ink drawings,(most of the pieces can be found under ARTWORKS/ black and white). The exhibition also had a performance art element which included Marc performing two of his raps, a drummer and other poets and performance artists. This was a well attended show largely supported by the black gay community and was highly successful in terms of enthusiasm, networking and sells of the artwork on dispaly.
