Research Statement: NURBS as a design and construction solution. A paradigm that merge two fields into one.
In the information age, we are no longer being
held back by the lack of knowledge, in fact there is no structures or
forms that seem impossibly to build. With
this digitally mediated design, the NURBS is seen as a paradigm not
only for free-fancy forms, but could be used
in the design of conventional and box-like forms. Most importantly,
it is a method that address to many contemporary
paradigms in design (for instance, folding, topologial, mapped,
isomorphic and media surfaces.) Digital architecture
are profoundly changing the process of design and construction.
