| K'vitsh's favorite websites! |
| Rasputina's Official Website - My favorite band. They use only voice, drums, and cello. They often hook up a cello or two to an amplifier, use distortion, or a wa-wa pedal to "rock-out". They also sing songs about Howard Hughes, famous dwarves, and the Donner Party. Sigh. They're wonderful. The Mediaeval Baebes Official Website - My other favorite band. A group of hot chicks sing mediaeval songs, sometimes straight up, sometimes with fancy production values. Lovely. Killing the Buddha - The thinking person's religious website. Rodney Anonymous Tells You How to Live - A former member of the Dead Milkmen. This site is very funny and acerbic. Where else can you get daily weather reports from Edgar Allan Poe? Beliefnet - Sometimes quite new-agey and wanky, but sometimes it has really lovely and insightful writing on various religious matters. Salon - I check this site daily. Make sure you buy a membership. Don't just click on the free day-pass, you cheap bastards. I don't do that. Especially not on a daily basis. Coast to Coast A.M. - This used to be called the Art Bell show before he had a personal crisis and retired. Now he hosts on weekends. This is one fucked-up show. Anything weird, paranoid, or occultish is given a voice. As silly as most of it is, it can be damn scary when you're lying alone in bed at 3 a.m. The Skeptic's Dictionary - From the website: "A collection of strange beliefs, amusing deceptions, and dangerous delusions (and how to think critically about them)." A nice compendium to the Coast to Coast site. Slayage - A site that devotes itself to the academic study of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I'm still proud I got to write an essay last term dealing with a BTVS and its treatment of death and mourning. Taber Times/Vauxhall Advance - The two fine newspapers I used to work for. See how they're floundering in my absence. Fisher Space Pen - I love my space pen. I have the brushed chrome model. Visit this site and get your very own. Sometimes when my space pen and I have a fight, I go to this site and fantasize about other space pens. Then we make up. Childfree Abby - A cool site where someone with a low opinion of breeders re-does advice columns with a child theme. I usually agree with her quite heartily. Grammallama - Aasa and I went to SAIT together. We took Journalism Arts. Now we're both rich and famous reporters. SAIT is good. SAIT is benevolent. Here's her well-written and sometimes poignant blog. That last bit was sincere. Tigger's Bouncin' Place - The only Matthew Labyorteaux site I've found. Well, it's part of a larger site, actually. There's also the Matthew Laborteaux Fun Club group on Yahoo. Most of the people who post on it are illiterate and precious, but I try to inject some brain now and again. |
