| Name Matthew Charles Labyorteaux. He spelled it "Laborteaux" professionally for years. Now he doesn't. D.O.B. December 1st (or 8th, depending on the source) 1966, making him a Sagittarius. Not that I care. It also makes him 38 now. A perfectly respectable age difference to my 31. Height 5'7", according to IMDb.com. Hey, I'M 5'7"! There are no accidents, people. Resume Most notably, The Red Hand Gang, Little House on the Prairie, Whiz Kids, King of the Gypsies, A Woman Under the Influence, Shattered Spirits, The Last to Go, Deadly Friend. He then, for all intents and purposes, vanished. He does voice work, however. The latest project I've discovered is his heart-wrenching role as the unseen sobbing neighbor in Under the Tuscan Sun. I rented the DVD and watched it at school just to hear it. He even has two sentences of dialogue. And, in the extras portion, the director says his name. Which means I now know how to pronounce it. Yeee! Trivia He was adopted, along with his brother Patrick Labyorteaux, who also had a part in Little House on the Prairie. He was allegedly abused before his adoption and as a result didn't speak, wouldn't allow anyone to touch him, played with his fingers (again, special resonance for those who knew me as a child) and rocked in one spot. This led to him being diagnosed as autistic, though I believe this is a misdiagnosis and he was just responding as any little kid would to abuse. But what the hell do I know? Eventually his adoptive parents' tender loving care restored him to normalcy. In 1992 Matthew and Patrick co-founded the Youth Rescue Fund, an organization dedicated to helping youth runaways. Miscellaneous internet tidbits People who've seen him in the past decade or so say he's still a hottie. It seems his co-stars and people who've met him have nothing but nice things to say about him. He appears to be single. This has led to rumors that he's gay. Well, that and the hopes of gay men who feel like I do about him. The dearth of information is disheartening on one hand, but on the other, it keeps me and gay men everywhere from being disappointed. However, I'm sure we'd all like to know how he's doing. |
| As Matt is a self-respecting man who doesn't partake in celebrity boxing, information on him is hard to come by. Here's what I've dug up. |
