    Senegal is not without its destinations for pilgrimage. In Senegal, there is one dominant site: the Great Mosque of Touba. It was constructed in 1926 to house the body of Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba, a Senegalese saint. This mosque is the most visited pilgrimage site in all of West Africa.
