My name is Karen Vechione and I'm a fourth grade teacher in El Paso,Texas. Born in Wisconsin but raised a Texan ... I am a product of the El Paso ISD system.
My Certifications: Bachelor of Science in Education with an Early Childhood Endorsement from U.T. El Paso as well as a GT certification. This is my 19th year teaching!
My Awards: 1999 Polk Teacher of the Year, Texas PTA Lifetime Achievement/Membership Award
My Family: I am married to Mark, a director with Socorro ISD and stepmom to Matt and Mitch. I am also blessed to be the mother of a baby angel named Lauren who was stillborn ten years ago.

My Hobbies: I love to scrapbook /stamp, read, swim, watch all three boys play in tennis tournaments, work out at Planet Fitness, and travel.
My Favorite Music: U2, U2, U2! (I've seen them 3 times and can't wait for them to tour again!) I listen to all types of music from top 40, to rock, to disco to country!
Favorite Drinks: Diet Coke, Starbucks mild coffee (1 sweet n low, extra cream), Skinny Mint Mocha, and Coffee Emporium's Snickerdoodle.
