Banking Key words - NBK, internet, modern Why choose some local bank because it happens to be in the block where your office/residence is, or it is your company�s bank or your HR staff point you there when the National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) is so much better? It is more helpful, has internet banking that has been running for several years and the major flaws have been removed. Once you get your accounts set up, you may never have to visit the bank again�..(don�t know now whether NBK is still only bank with internet banking). If you have a dollar or sterling bank account there is no problem about paying money in but to withdraw it there will be a foreign currency charge even if you are taking dollars or sterling from your Kuwaiti bank. Deposit accounts are a waste of time in Kuwait unless you have large sums to leave alone for some time but let�s face it, most people are in Kuwait to make money and the sooner it gets into an offshore high interest account or into the stock market then so much the better. When you try to close your account, you may have to pay for the privilege of doing so in which case run the account down to a few fils and leave it. home
