 MYTHOLOGY

Sailor Saturn

Tomoe Hotaru/Sailor Saturn

Hotaru, simply means "firefly". The first chracter to means "soil" or "the ground", and moe means to "bud" or "spring up". In all, her name means, "a firefly sprouting up from the soil". Saturn's Greek counterpart, Cronus, was the ancient Titan who ruled over time. Sailor Saturn, who only attacks are death-based, should have had her powers switched with Pluto's to have them fit in with the others. Capricorns are ideally secretive and shy, though they have been known to illustrate great courage when provoked. It fits well with Hotaru's person because while she is physically the weakest of the ten senshi, her Sailor-power is the most destructive.

(Roman Saturn; Greek Titan Cronus) they are the god of agriculture and harvest, which associates Sailorsaturns power the creation. Like Pluto, the god Saturn is not very popular, also Sailorsaturn has a poor appearance in TV. She also has the power of decay, it tells what happened to Uranus, hes the one who castrated him and established the Titans. However, hes also castrated him by Zeus (Jupiter in Roman.) He is the son of Uranus and Gaia and the father of Zeus, Hades, Poseidon and Hera (Jupiter, Pluto, Neptune and Juno in Roman.) Cronus also attributes the sickle. He uses this to castrate his father and also the agriculture. Sailorsaturn's glaive is like the sicklesymbols of creation and decay.

His consort was either Lua or Ops. He was the father of Jupiter. His temple was constructed in the Roman Forum as early as the fifth century BC. It served as the Roman treasury (aerarium). His festival was the Saturnalia, observed on December 17 but later extended to seven days. It was the most popular Roman festival, characterized by a suspension of all business, a reversal of the roles of master and slave, the exchange of gifts (including candles to symbolize the winter darkness
