On The Word Love Love is a feeling, A word to express, A feeling that is hidden, In all of us. It has no reason, It has no rhyme. It just is. If I say I love you, Take it to your heart, Keep it safe, It's worth more than, Anything to me, For once I give it, It is there to stay! I don't just give it, And then take it away! It's not given to just anyone, So if I say I love you, It comes from deeper, Than my heart, It comes from my soul. I care for lots of people, But, say I "love" you to few, It's not a word I abuse, It's never said lightly, It is my gift to you. "Copyright" Joyce Gosdin 7/31/2000 |
