Jim Kus is a retired Detective
from the Lansing Police Department
(LPD) in Michigan.  During his 26 year
career with the LPD, he served in the
burglary, larceny, youth felony and
robbery-homicide squads as well as the
Lansing Police and Fire Departments�
Arson Unit.  He also spent several years
in the Crime Prevention Unit
performing over 400 residential,
commercial and industrial security risk
analyses. 
    After 24 years of service, Jim retired from the Michigan National Guard.  His last nine years were spent as the State Physical Security Noncommissioned Officer.  Duties included the administration of the Army Physical Security Program for all National Guard Facilities.  The focus of his security duties were directed toward the security of all Arms, Ammunition and Explosives.  In 2006, Jim was the Project Coordinator for the Michigan Intelligence and Operations Center (Fusion Center) for the State of Michigan. 
     Jim is a graduate of Michigan State University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice.  He has been designated as a Certified Protection Professional and is board certified in security management through ASIS International.  He is qualified in civil and criminal courts as an expert witness regarding security related manners.
