The Blue Seed Story (Synopsis)

A long time ago, there were 8 princesses that were threatened by a monster that resembling a Hydra. Seven of the princesses were taken. One day, a hero named Susanooh, rose to the ocassion and manageed to save the princess, putting the monsters into a deep slumber...

Now in modern times, the monsters are free again, wreaking havoc on an unsuspecting word. This was because two girls, both decendants of the princess (known in ledgends as the Kushinada) were born. One of the decendants, Kaede (adopted daughter of TAC leader, Daitetsu Kunikida), dissapears after an encounter with one of these monsters. Feeling a great sense of loss and responsibility, Kunikida is determined to protect the other Kushinada decendant. But where can she be?

Enter - Momiji Fujimiya. Momiji is a fun-loving 15 year old who lives in the Izumo region of Japan. While doing somesort of ritual, her grandma hints her that she might have to make a "huge sacrific" someday. She disregards the warning, thinking it was too cryptic to understand.

She soon finds herself being chased by monsters (calling themselves Aragami) - causing her school to be stomped to the ground by one such monster. Eventually, Momiji finds out that she is a Kushinada and that she is the only one capable of putting the monster back to sleep. However, in an ironic twist of fate, the only way she can put the Aragami back to sleep is by acting as a human sacrifice. Adding to her dismay is the fact that the is that the Aragami are still able to kill a Kushinada without taking themselves out if they kill her on a sacraficial-type altar called a "Ceramic Field".

Only the interferance from the TAC (Terrestial Administrative Crew) and a mysterious greeen-haired stranger prevented the monster from causing any more harm. In the process, Momiji gets implanted with a blue, seed-shaped thing called a "Mitama", which is suppose to mutate any living organism into a monster. Luckily, instead of being mutated, Momiji develops a symbiosis with the Mitama, giving her Aragami senseing capabilities among others.
