The Sons And Daughters Of Liberty
written by Rick Imamoto, September 13, 2001
in the face of horrendous atrocity
questioning the nature of humanity
wondering why such things could be done
perhaps the trouble has only begun
senseless acts of terror and hate
have left us in a downtrodden state
we mourn the lives of those now gone
but let it be known we shall carry on
with this blatant disruption to our way of life
let us find strength in spite of the strife
despite all the suffering and the occaisional tear
gather your courage, say no to fear
no matter how dreadful this war may become
no one shall rob us of our freedom
in spite of everything that has gone wrong
the home of the brave shall come back strong
let it be known we are far from finished
and that our spirit shall never be diminished
for every lost sister, brother or friend
there shall be a price to be paid in the end
in the face of battles
lost and won
after all
is said and done
no matter how difficult things may be
it shall be clear for all to see
the American people will forever be
the sons and daughters of liberty
