when the magic starts to fade
when forgiveness pales
in light of mistakes been made
when the feeling is gone
but we have stayed
when our loved ones fall
to the reaper’s blade
when the heart is craving
that certain something once again
and we’re feeling trapped
in games no one will win
when the race is over
and we have yet to begin
we face the punishment
without the sin

and emotions grow cold
