backpedaling from the future
running from the past
dying to live forever
while we are not built to last
hampered by uncertainty
the constant fear of loss
wanting to have it all
not willing to pay the cost
hope conquers fear
fear kills all hope
which seems to be
the easier way to cope
fear turns into anger
anger leads to hate
hate brings on the pain
and then we end up standing
within our storming inner rain
hope turns into faith
faith leads on to love
love brings on the peace
as the quality of life
will definitely increase
