when i was lost in the dark
you shed your light upon me
when i was alone
you gave me thought
when i was suffering
you gave me comfort
when i hated myself
you gave me love
when i was troubled
you gave me prayer
when i was dead inside
you made me feel alive
when i was down
you lifted me up
we all live
in our own
little worlds
you make my world
a better place
we each make our way
through our own unique journey
through time and space
you’ve given me a brighter path
for all of this
and so much more
