Two years after hitting a man with a car and dumping the body into a lake, Julie James(Hewitt) is still haunted by the memory. When she goes on vacation with a group of friends, she is terrorized by threats such as "I Still Know" and the man whom she thought was dead is coming after her for revenge. The sequel to last years horror hit, Jennifer Love Hewitt, in a movie that's otherwise as scary and gory as teen horror flicks get, she is just about the only saving grace. Remove her and you might as well be watching a Friday The 13th movie. She screams well, she sings well,she has an engaging screen presence, and she is nice to look at. Brandy is good, too. In fact, it's the chemistry between the two that totally make this movie, and it turns out to be a better teaming than Jennifer Sarah Michelle Gellar in the original. In the first movie, Jennifer and Sarah were supposed to be best friends, but you never got the impression that they even liked each other. In this sequel, Jennifer and Brandy pull off the best friends thing so naturally that you expect them to spend the whole movie painting each other's nails and brushing each other's hair. Okay, so I guess to sum up the What's Good:
Jennifer love Hewitt and Brandy, gore and thrilling scenes. I'm rating this movie better than the first one because of the improved chemistry, and because the sequel actually had a few good laughs in it. Is Hollywood running out of cool villains or something? Here we've got a fisherman running around with a meathook. The scenes are sudden and jolting, but ultimately thin.
