WWF News: Kurt Angle victory celebration Posted by Daniel Bradshaw on October 24, 2000 You Never Who You're Gonna Run Into At Denny's! Imagine going into your local Denny's late one night for a late dinner and you run into the new WWF Champion. It happened this past Sunday to PWTorch.com reader Rusty Weiss of Troy, N.Y. He wrote into PWTorch.com the following email: After attending the No Mercy PPV, a friend of mine and I decided to hit a Denny's for some food. While we were eating, Kurt Angle, his wife, and someone who appeared to be his brother sat down to eat at the table right next to us. Angle was noticeably limping, favoring his left leg, and he had a pretty good cut over his eye. We overheard him talking about his preparation for the match, comparing with past matches and opponents (Triple H). I thought it was odd that he decided to celebrate his first championship at Denny's. Also, what I found funny was his order. He asked for pancakes. Does the Rock know about this? Too Funny! Full Report of Kurt Angle cooking on Regis Posted by Shaun Daniels on October 26, 2000 WWF Cooking Week on Regis Live rolled on Thursday with current WWF Champion, Kurt Angle. Angle arrived wearing his WWF Championship title and cracking a few jokes with Regis and the daily host. They chatted about his finisher, the Olympic Slam, and simulated it on some producer because Regis refused to volunteer. After returning from a commercial break, Angle began cooking his special, apple pie. Kurt stated the pie is his mom’s, and gave it some flashy title. After Regis, and Angle went through how to make it, the finished product was tried, and enjoyed. Kurt’s recipe is currently online at regislive.com, and will be signing autographs at WWF New York later this afternoon. Steve Austin will wrap-up the week on Regis Live tomorrow morning. WWF News: Stephanie McMahon Posted by Brandon Newman on October 27, 2000 The Following News is from RajahWWF.com: Stephanie McMahon has reportedly taken a large role in writing recent WWF programs, according to Dave Meltzer. Stephanie definitely has become one of the WWF's "MVPs" lately, with her huge involvement in major WWF angles. The Rock Being Held Out of The World Title Race, Plus Triple H, Austin, Jericho, Angle, Kane Posted by Brandon Newman on October 28, 2000 The Following News is from RajahWWF.com: Speaking of the Rock, the former WWF champion seems like he currently is being tossed around in several programs and most recently participated in a handicap, seven-person tag match alongside Mr. Ass and Chyna against the Right to Censor. It is still unclear what sort of match the Rock will draw into, but suffice to say that the WWF will no doubt do their best to keep him near the top of the federation, despite not being the world titlist. Let's just take a look at the world title picture right now and namely the guys at the top. On the good guy side we have the Rock of course, along with Triple H, Steve Austin, Chris Jericho and a currently injured Undertaker. Opposing them on the heel side are Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Rikishi and Kane. With Rikishi's recent heel turn, it has helped even up the sides a little, but no matter how you slice it, the face side is clearly stacked and even out-numbers the heel side. The other interesting thing that I have noticed is that the WWF has opened themselves up to a lot of main event combinations in the future since many of the above men are inter-related with one another. For example, the Rock will surely be after Kurt Angle in an attempt to get back his world title, but he also is at odds with Chris Benoit and now Rikishi but at the same time does not necessarily see eye-to-eye with Triple H. The man who seems to be involved in pretty much everything is indeed Triple H and it can likely be owed to the fact that he shuffles between being a heel and face as the circumstance dictates. Check out HHH's relationships with the other main eventers: he hates Kurt, he hates Benoit, he dislikes Jericho, he doesn't get along all that well with either the Rock or Undertaker, he has some unfinished business with Austin stemming from last year and programs between himself against Kane and Rikishi could easily be set up. In short, Triple H is Mr. Versatility for the WWF right now and can go up against pretty much anyone. I don't know why I threw this paragraph in here, but I just thought it'd be interesting to relate what I was thinking: the WWF's storyline picture is actually better than it does appear. Chris Benoit Winning WWF Title at Survivor Series Posted by Brandon Newman on October 29, 2000 The Following News is from RajahWWF.com: It has been reported that one of the early ideas for the Survivor Series main event could pit Kurt Angle defending his championship agaisnt the Rock and Chris Benoit. With the Radicalz seemingly back together again, a possible scenario is that the Radicalz help Benoit out, thus making him the WWF Champion. He had his WWF title with him. *The WWF plans to release some new videos and DVDs in the upcoming months. They plan to release DVDs for SummerSlam 2000, and videos for Kurt Angle and Chris Jericho. Stephanie McMahon in Movie Posted by Aaron Dias on October 29, 2000 Thank you to Bill Liston for sending in the following: The Dark Horizon's Website reports that on Angel's Wings: WWF star Stephanie McMahon is following that latest of trends - wrestlers turned film stars. "On Angels Wings" is the latest script from "Cold Hearts" writer/director Robert A. Masciantonio and follows a man whose son is killed in a drive-by shooting - a tragedy so devastating it unhinges the guy who decides to deliver his own brand of justice in the costume guise of an angel. McMahon is apparently Masciantonio's personal choice for 'Amanda', a hardened ex-classical dancer turned bartender whose the "love interest and voice of sanity" for the lead character. Kevin Smith film regular Jason Lee is tipped to be offered the role of the killer, whilst Christopher Wiehl ("Cold Hearts", "Bull") is up for the lead when shooting begins in Philadelphia in early 2001. Thanks to 'I Can Do That'.
