Ethan is 8 months old, as of today, April 3, 2002!
He is getting so big!

Ethan is fortunate enough to be done with getting shots for awhile. His last time was at his 6 month checkup, and he won't need anymore until he is 1 year old.
He is sitting up unsupported very well now. He has even learned to crawl! We have grown accustomed to knowing exactly where he is at if we (Mom, Dad, or Ashley) need to turn around for a moment. Not any longer!

He enjoys lots of table foods. We now have to think of ways to incorporate softer food into our dinners so that he can participate. The Gerber jars and mashed fruits and veggies are disappearing. In fact, he had his very first toasted cheese sandwich last week.  =o)  He's still drinking 6 oz bottles of Enfamil about 4-5 times, on top of his 2 solid food meals a day, which are still usually oatmeal and fruit for lunch, and veggies, sometimes meat too, with rice for dinner.

He is also getting over a minor cold that's annoyed all 4 of us lately. It wasn't bad, just a runny nose, and a weeks worth of sleepless nights (which I'm hoping to end soon!).

He loves the word "Dada" and uses it frequently, but he seems to call everyone, and everything a DADA! Mama is rarely said, but that's ok, it will come soon.    =o)

Since the weather has been a bit nicer, we have shown him what the grass feels like! As soon as I lay down a blanket and sit him down onto it, he will lean right over and start picking the grass. He doesn't put it in his mouth though, which is strange, because he puts EVERYTHING into his mouth. Before the weather warmed up, he loved it when I would carry him outside so he could look at and touch everything. We would touch trees, leaves, cars, fences, flowers, and anything else that he looked interested in.

We also had to lower the crib this month, when he decided to try to pull himself up the side railing!
