| Kurrajong Handspun Crafts Inc |
| We are a very friendly informal group meeting weekly to share skills and information on all aspects of spinning, weaving, dyeing, knitting, crochet and felting and to increase our knowledge and interest in textiles. Members use natural fibres such as wool, alpaca, mohair, cotton, silk, etc. and experiment with many manufactured and synthetic fibres (bamboo, soy, tencel etc.), either in natural colours or hand-dyed, blending for interesting textures. The group demonstrates its skills at many local events as well as organising the Australian Spinning Competition each year at Hawkesbury District Agricultural Assoc. Show. We meet at North Richmond Community Centre, Williams St., North Richmond every Thursday from 12 noon to 3 pm PO Box 171, Kurmond, NSW 2757 Contacts The SCARF EXCHANGE is nearing an end. We have received fibre from all over Australia as well as USA, New Zealand and the UK. Many crafters have finished with their deft hands to make transformations to scarves, bags, hats etc with the theme, Sunset over the Blue Mountains in mind. Others are finalising their work, due for return this week. This will culminate in an Exhibition of Work Sat/Sun, 10am-4pm, 21st/22nd November in the Stan Stevens Room, Deerubbin Centre, 300 George Street, Windsor. Opening of the exhibition will take place at 2pm on Saturday Details available here. Contact: Barbara Saunders (02) 4573 1875 |
