Summary- Kagome and Inuyasha were 5 and 6 years old when Inuyasha had to move away. They made a promise that they would never forget each other, and that someday they would meet again. But, 12 years later, When both attend the same college, will their memory fail them?
Genre- Humor, Romance, and other things that I’m too lazy to put down. Yes, this is an AU fiction. No whining now.
Additional notes: You know what’s really sad? When you go see Looney Toons back in action, and instead of pondering the plot, you think about which Program they used to CG Daffy Duck.
“I dreamt a dream tonight.”
“And so did I!”
“What was yours about?”
“That dreamer’s often Lie.”
“In bed asleep, while they do dream things true.”
“We’re leaving now?”
“Hai.”
“Doushite? I wanted to see Kagome!”
“You did see Kagome.”
“You know what I mean!”
“.. We’re leaving, Shippou.”
The transparent figure of a Hanyou loomed above the smaller Kitsune, a look that suited Sesshoumaru more so plastered on his face. His cold and complacent stare rested on the Young girl’s dormitory, before he let out a wistful sigh.
Why did he wait? Good question. As the Fox ranted and squabbled around his feet, Inuyasha’s mind began to wander...
Everything had been going fine back then. They had only one fucking shard left to get their hands on. The group had been traveling from Mt. Hakurei, their adventure being put on hold from previous happenings. Kagome was always so lively and cheerful, her twilight hued eyes shining with a childish nature.
But, Death comes on swift wings.
Too bad Naraku didn’t need wings to fulfill that.
The fight with the aforementioned over the Shikon no Tama.. Took 18 days. By that 18’th day, everyone on both sides had been spent. Naraku was laying in a pitiful form- Kagura, Kanna and the Child being dead. Inuyasha’s group wasn’t much better. The Kazaana refused to respond to any healing from all it’s tireless labor, and the fact that the Taijiya herself had left... drove him to lash out and use it even more. Shippou... Followed the Suite of Sango, and died in the same instant as she. The Kitsune had been in a spot, and had two choices at that moment; Save Sango, whom Kohaku had pinned against the ground, his weapon raised...
Or Kagome, whom was about to be pierced by the gelatinous form of Naraku’s shape shifting Body.
Kagome lived.
It had been the final night. Inuyasha himself, was tripping between the dream and reality. Clear became the Unclear, colors became faded.... He barely managed to have one last talk with the Miko
“Inuyasha... We’re going to win.” She had said to him, while he himself was lying at the roots of a tree. She was on her hands and knees, that well known determined glint showing in the earthly orbs. Inuyasha had let out a small laugh- It didn’t seem like it.
“Of course...” He had dimly replied. They both knew that the chances of winning were... diminished. It was merely a talk to lighten spirits, he now supposed
“But... But in case something happens....” The Miko looked to the ground, fingering the little red necktie hanging from her collar. He had eyed her wearily, and suddenly curious.
“Nani?”
“In case... something happens.. I just wanted to say.. I’ll wait for you.” He stared hard at her for a moment, watching the tint of carnation streak about her- And then he blinked in the dawned realization. She would wait for him.
In hell? Or in heaven?
“Kagome...”
“I will. I’ll wait for you.” The Miko had placed her hands on his shoulders then, and he noticed her look of determination once again. He hadn’t seen that look.. for a while.. The Hanyou smiled at her, and remembered the light brush of lips. He remembered his promise, in return...
“ I’ll wait for you, too.”
Kagome had died within the hour.
One final spell had been cast by the ominous miasmic presence.
“Hanyou... As your love dies, I want you to think about those words you said to her...”
Inuyasha’s eyes had been widened in horror, as he lashed out at his enemy with everything he’d had.
“WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN!?”
“She’ll be waiting a while... And she’s known to be stubborn. I’m turning the Tables, you half-breed. Enjoy your wait.“
“Inuyasha! I don’t want to go!” Shippou cried, balling his fists and ranting at the taller person. The Hanyou snapped out of his thoughts, and growled. Old memories brought up annoyance with him, and so did the Kitsune.
“let’s go, Shippou.”
“But you promised to wait for Kagome!”
“I did wait for Kagome. And now she’s here. So, let’s go.”
“Bastard!!!”
A familiar ‘Keh!’ retorted back to the Youngest one, as he picked him up and walked off. It had been the truth after all- He had waited for her. But he couldn’t stay in this world any longer, now that there was his other. The spell broke off a while back, in fact. The day the brat had finished that book... But he couldn’t help himself.. He needed to see her again.
But this time was growing dangerous, even for spirits. He turned back to gaze one last minute at her door, and shut his eyes.
“Sayonara, Kagome’chan. I’ll wait for you.”
Again, not a chapter with much plot, but I do hope it clears up why Inuyasha’s ghostly Hanyou presence still existed o.o;. No answering the Reviews this time, though. I’m a bit busy. But I hope you liked this chapter, and please review
