The young girl sighed as she looked at herself in the mirror. her mother had given her the uniform to her new school, and kagome was currently spinning around in it. It consisted of a blue and white sailor top, with a blue tie, and a blue pleated skirt. (A/N- think ‘Sailor Moon’. ^^;)
“Kagome!” Mrs. Higurashi called, shattering Kagome’s twirly moment.
“Hai Kassan?” She called back, looking towards her bedroom doorway which led to the upstairs hallway.
“Hurry up! We don’t want to be late for your first day of school!” She decreed. Kagome nodded, and high tailed it down the stairs.
“Okie dokie!”
~~~
“Class! We have a new student joining us today. Please say hello to Higurashi Kagome.” The teacher said, lightly pushing Kagome forward. Kagome looked down in embarrassment.
“H-Hello...” The young girl mumbled. Some of the boys in the far corner snickered, causing Kagome to look up and send a particularly nasty glare their way. The boys immediately shut up, and the teacher gestured for Kagome to go to her seat.
Once at her seat, Kagome took a look around the classroom. The girl in front of her turned around and smiled.
“Konnichiwa! My names’ Tira. You’ll like it here!” The girl whispered. Kagome grinned, and noticed how the girl was looking to the side and blushing. Kagome scrunched up her eyebrows.
“Daijobu?” She asked under her breath. The girl snapped out of whatever daze she was in, and turned a deeper shade of red.
“See that boy over their? His name’s Inuyasha.” She said, nodding towards the left of her. Kagome blinked, and turned her head slightly.
The 5 year old blinked. Right next to herself was indeed a boy. he was looking dead ahead at the chalkboard, his long ebony hair somewhat pushed behind his ear, but still threatening to droop over his face in a veil. His violet eyes blinked every so often, but he didn’t look as if he was disturbed.
Kagome turned back to the girl, who was almost about to fall out of her chair.
“What about him?” Kagome asked. The girl giggled.
“Some day, he’s gonna notice me! And we’ll get married!” She said, maybe a little to loudly. The teacher snapped her head around and narrowed her eyes.
“Tira. Would you like to go to time out?” She asked. Tira blushed, and shook her head no.
~~~
Kagome swung on the swings happily. It was recess, and everyone was out and about, doing their own thing.
“Oi. New girl. Do you know how to build sandcastles?” a voice asked, nearly making Kagome fall off her perch. She skidded to a halt and looked around.
“Oh. Inuyasha-kun. What do you mean? Doesn’t everyone know how to build a sandcastle?” She asked with a sweat drop, walking towards him. Inuyasha scrunched up her nose.
“So... Your not afraid?” he asked cautiously. Now, Kagome may’ve been only five years old, but she knew when someone was acting weird. So, in this case, she stared.
“Scared of what?” She asked, hands on her hips. Inuyasha crosses his arms.
“Of gettin’ yourself and your clothes dirty.” he said, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. Kagome giggled.
“Are you crazy? Why would I be scared of that? i can just get my mommy to wash it.” she pointed out. Inuyasha face faulted. This girl was way different from the other girls. Way-Way different.
“...Fine. C’mon!” He said, grabbing her hand and leading her towards the sandbox.
~~~
the last bell of the day rang, and Kagome hefted her backpack, about to run out the door and wait for her mom to pick her up.
“Oi! Kagome!” Someone called. The girl turned around, and saw Inuyasha walking towards her.
“Hai, Inuyasha-kun?” She asked, glancing at the place where her mom was going to pick her up.
“Can we play again tomorrow?” he asked hesitantly. Kagome smiled happily, and grabbed his hand.
“Yeah! But I have to go home now, ok?” She let go of his hand, and turned around to start walking, leaving a somewhat pink Inuyasha behind. He looked after her, and watched as she paused, and turned to wave at him, before hopping in her moms car.
“...See you tomorrow, Kagome-chan...” He mumbled, starting to walk home
~~~
Kagome and Inuyasha bolted upright and awake at the exact same time, both heavily panting, with cold sweat on their brow.
And then...
*blink*
*blink*
*stare*
Inuyasha stared at the girl, who’s waist was securely held in place by his arm.
Kagome stared back, noticing her hand was still tangled in his hair.
“WHAT?! WHAT’RE YOU DOING?!” They both shrieked, jumping about five feet away from each other- any more, and Inuyasha would've fallen out the window.
“What do you mean?! I CAME FOR REVENGE, REMEMBER?!” She yelled, realizing she still had the bedpost in her hand. Inuyasha twitched.
“THAT WAS LAST NIGHT!? LAST NIGHT I TELL YA!” He observed, pointing out the window towards the sun. kagome blushed.
“Don’t tell me things I already know!” She cried, folding her arms across her stomach. Inuyasha grumbled, and threw the bed post to the ground.
And that’s when they both became aware of...
Inuyasha’s towel....
Which wasn’t where it was supposed to be...
Kagome squeaked, and whirled around, holding her hand to her chest, while Inuyasha grabbed his towel, and yanked it back around his waist.
“WHO’S TRYING TO SEDUCE WHO, HUH!?” Kagome yelled, turning around hesitantly to face him. Inuyasha shook his fist.
“YOUR The one who PLANNED this whole thing!” he retorted. Kagome sieved with anger.
“ALL I PLANNED TO DO WAS POUR A STUPID PROTEIN DRINK OR TWO ON YOUR HEAD!” She corrected. Inuyasha waved his hand, heading towards his dresser.
“None of this would’ve happened if you’d have just drank the damn things.” he pointed out. he then paused, noticing the look on her face, and smirked.
“In fact, it would've done better to help your problem that way too... Bitch.” he added on after a moment.
Inuyasha immediatley regretted it, as a flame of torrent anger seemed to engulf her.
“Take. That. Back.” She said in a deadly tone. Inuyasha laughed nervously, before grabbing his clothes and locking himself in the bathroom to get dressed. Kagome stared at the doorway, still consumed with rage, as he stepped back out, in a pair of baggy jeans and a dark blue shirt which read ‘I’ve gone to find myself. if I get back before I return, Keep me here’. He tossed Kagome an innocent look, before grinning widely.
“take it back? NEVER, YOU FAT WENCH!” He declared in pride, hauling ass out of the dorm. Kagome counted to ten, before giving up and running like hells fire after him.
“GET BACK HERE INUYASHA! YOU COWAAAAAAARRRRRRDD!!!!”
~~~
Inuyasha and Kagome were now about a mile away from their dorm, at the entrance of a local WacDonalds.
“Bitch..” Inuyasha panted, grabbing a bench for support. Kagome was sitting on it, elbows on her knees.
“Bastard.” She grumbled, looking up at him.
They both stared at each other, before Inuyasha slumped down on the bench next to her.
“Truce?” He asked wearily, rubbing his temple. Kagome frowned.
“Promise not to call me fat anymore?” She asked. Inuyasha rolled his eyes and grinned.
“Fine.” He said, But Kagome continued.
“OR, Anything Related whatsoever to the word fat?” She ventured. Inuyasha snapped his fingers.
“Take the fun out of everything...”
“Well?”
“Fine. But you can’t sneak into my room late at night and try to seduce me either.” he said, poking her nose. Kagome flushed.
“I WASN’T TRYING TO SEDUCE YOU!” She grumbled. Inuyasha rolled his eyes again.
“Promise?” He demanded.
“Yeah, ok.”
“Then alright. Truce.”
“Uhuh. Truce!” Both smiled and Inuyasha tilted his head back with a sigh.
And that’s when he saw her.
A girl had just exited WacDonalds. A very familiar girl. She had medium length Black hair, and narrowed brown eyes. Inuyashas’ breath caught.
“Let's make a promise...One day, when we meet each other again, We’ll stick with each other forever! Pinky Square!”
Kagome noticed his dazed look, and nudged his shoulder.
“Daijobu Inuyasha-kun?” She asked, some what apprehensive, but he wasn’t listening.
“I-It’s her.... I-it has to be her...” He mumbled, standing up and staring at her. the girl who was now walking away looked exactly like her, except paler. Exactly like her....
“JA INUYASHA! REMEMBER, YOU PROMISED!”
Inuyasha breathed heavily, wondering what to do. Should he go after her? Would she remember?
“You’d better remember Inuyasha...”
He cursed, looking franticly around, for anything that might give him a clue to do anything.
But all he saw was that girl....
Inuyasha flinched as the girl stopped dead in her tracks, and turned to give him a puzzled look, walking back towards him.
“Excuse me....” She began, but Inuyasha grabbed her and hugged her.
“I-It’s you!” He said, sounding like he was about to cry. The girl raised an eyebrow, and looked towards Kagome. kagome wasn’t looking at anything but Inuyasha though, a sad look in her eyes. The girl smirked. Inuyasha pulled away from her to look dead at her in the eye.
“What’s your name?” he demanded, as if the world counted n it.
“...Kikyou....” She answered. Inuyasha’s heart skipped a beat.
That name... it didn’t sound familiar.... Demo...
It HAD to be her! She looked JUST LIKE the girl from his dreams....
And... if it WASN’T her... Who else could it be...?
“You’d better remember Inuyasha...”
