Ahoy Minna-san! lol, don’t ask about the pirate greeting. Anyways, I’m back with my new FanFic, ‘Memory Card Needed’. I might just change the name of this fanfic, because I came up with the name within like, 5 seconds. Oh well, for now, that’s what it’s called.

Disclaimer- I Don’t own Inuyasha and Company. Kitty Studios and Takahashi-Sama does.

Summary- Kagome and Inuyasha were 5 and 6 years old when Inuyasha had to move away. They made a promise that they would never forget each other, and that someday they would meet again. But, 12 years later, When both attend the same college, will their memory fail them?

Genre- Humor, Romance, and other things that I’m to lazy to put down. Yes, this is an AU fiction. My first AU, actually. Oh well, everyone has a first at something ^^;

Additional Notes- At first this fic was going to be called ‘Insert Memory Card’. But I decided that was kind of...I don't know. Then it was going to be ‘Memories Forgotten’ but that kind of title didn’t really suit this fic. then it was ‘Forget-Me-Not’ but that was just to weird. So yeah.... I came up with this one. Oh well

On with the FIRST chapter already! ^^

Kagome ran as fast as her short legs could take her. She had to get there before he was gone forever. She ran down the sidewalk even faster, the cherry blossoms falling from the trees above her like a light rain, the wind tussling them around her body as she skidded to a halt at the corner, and turned directions.

Tears were at the young girls eyes now as she looked down at her pink hello kitty watch which flashed *4:57* in bold black letters. Kagome groaned, straining her body to run faster.

She finally made it down the last sidewalk, and almost toppled over at the entrance to the walkway. Pushing open the creaking wooden gate, she hopped along the stone steps which had been carefully placed in the middle of the sea of green grass.

She hopped up the steps to the front door hurriedly, kicking off her shoes as she went. When she reached the door, she saw that it was already partially opened, and this made her heart grow heavy.

Upon opening it, she saw that some movers still remained, and were cleaning up a bit. Kagome went over to the tallest one and tugged on his pants until he looked down.

“Onegai, Where is Inuyasha and his ‘Kassan and ‘tousan and 'nisan?” She asked quietly. The man frowned down at her, scratching his goatee.

“Well little girl, if you want to catch up with them before they leave, then hurry up into the driveway.” He told her, pointing to the garage door.

Kagome raced towards the door, flung it open and looked around in a daze for Him. He had to still be here!

Then she saw him. He was getting into his car. He was leaving! She had to hurry up!

“INUYASHA!” She cried, running up towards him. He blinked, and turned around to grin widely at her.

“Kagome-Chan! I didn’t think you were going to come!” he said happily, hugging her. Kagome wept into his shirt.

“Onegai, Inuyasha. Don’t leave?” She whimpered. Inuyasha’s expression turned grim.

“Gomen ne Kagome-Chan, but ‘Kassan said we have to move away because ‘Tousan’s work.” He replied, pulling away from her. He was surprised to see that tears were streaming down her face like miniature fountains. He wiped them away with his hands.

“Kagome-Chan...?” He asked meekly.

“INUYASHA! GET IN THE CAR! WE’RE LEAVING!” Inuyasha’s father yelled from inside the car. Kagome clutched to Inuyasha tighter.

“Demo.... I don’t want you to go!” She cried. Inuyasha felt tears welling up in his own eyes as he pulled away from her. Kagome looked up at him as if the world were ending, and was surprised when Inuyasha stuck his pinky out at her.

“Let’s make a promise Kagome-Chan! One day, when we meet each other again, We’ll stick with each other forever! Pinky Square!” He said happily. Kagome’s eyes watered happily as she latched her own Pinky with his.

“Ok!”

“Promise Kagome-Chan? You can be real forgetful ya know!” Inuyasha laughed. Kagome wiped away her tears and smiled at him with narrowed eyes.

“I pinky squared, didn’t I?”

“INUYASHA! FOR THE LAST TIME, GET IN THE CAR!” Inuyasha’s mother commanded.

Inuyasha hugged Kagome one last time, before opening up the car door. Kagome shut it after him, peering through the window. Inuyasha pressed his hands to the window, and made a really funky /weird face. Kagome giggled, but her heart panicked as she watched the car pull backwards out of the driveway.

As the car began driving down the street, Kagome ran in the middle of the pavement and started to wave after it,

“JA INUYASHA! REMEMBER, YOU PROMISED!” She called after him.

She stopped waving and stood in the middle of the street, staring out after it.

“You’d better remember Inuyasha...” She mumbled, turning around and starting to walk back home.

Around her, the Sakura Blossoms swished, serving as a reminder, lest she ever forgot.

But things just didn’t quite work out that way, now did they?

~~~
Kagome woke up with a jolt. She had been having that same dream for the past 3 days, and it was really starting to irk her out.
The 18 year old girl pulled off her blankets that had been untidily strewn about her sleeping body, and sat on the edge of the bed.
As her feet dangled mere centimeters above her pink fluffy slippers, she looked out the window at the bright autumn morning. the leaves were an assortment of browns, yellows, oranges and some were even still green. But though it would look like she had been staring at the falling leaves had anyone been present, she was actually thinking back to her dream.
‘That was 12 years ago! Why am I dreaming about it now?’ She wondered, dangling her feet back and forth against her bed.
‘I mean... It’s not as if I’m ever going to see him again! I don’t even remember what his stupid name was! and I’m sure that he has a girlfriend by now...’ She let that last thought drift as she finally got her lazy arse up off the bed, shaking her head and laughing at her stupidity.
“Ack! I can’t believe I’m actually thinking about this! What do I care anyways? I’m starting college next week, and I can’t have my mind on the past!” She giggled, pulling out a pair of dark blue jeans and a tight pink shirt that read ‘Feel the Love’ in black letters.
But even though she tried convincing herself that that was that and done and over with, she couldn’t help pausing and staring out the window once more. Smiling slightly, she shook her head again, and headed towards her door.
“It’s a shame that the Cherry blossoms aren’t in bloom right now...” She murmured, walking downstairs.
Somewhere across town...
~~~

Inuyasha woke up groggily, smashing his alarm clock as hard as he could with his fist. Becoming fully awake, he then realized what he just did and cursed loudly.

“Kami damn it, That's the friggin’ 5’th one this week!” He growled, getting up out of the bed, and heading towards the door to the hallway.

He rubbed his eyes as he entered the bathroom, pausing to think about what had woken him up in the first place. And then he remembered.

It was that dream, AGAIN! How many times was that memory gonna haunt him in one week? This was like, the seventh time it had happened! Inuyasha was getting a little more than annoyed!

He picked up his toothbrush and toothpaste absently as he looked into the mirror. He wondered why that dream kept reoccurring. What was in the past was meant to stay in the past, right?

“There’s no way she’d remember anyways.... Wish I hadn’t forgotten her name though. But what can I do... Even if I did remember, What would I do? Look her up in the phone book, go to her house and yell ‘HEY! remember ME!’? Feh!” He grumbled, brushing his teeth in frustration.

But as he looked into the mirror, he found himself wondering about her again as the pace of his brushing slowed down. He wondered if she had changed, he remembered her sparkling gray eyes, and long raven hair.

Inuyasha studied himself in the mirror, noticing that he himself hadn’t changed much. His hair was still black, though it had gotten somewhat longer, and his eyes remained the same lavender color also.

Nope, not to much change, but that was ok with him.

What was really bothering him was the fact that he hadn’t forgotten about the dream already and gone down to eat breakfast.

“Damn memories... Feh.” He murmured, walking down the staircase to pour himself a bowl of cereal.

But Inuyasha still kept remembering those words...

“Let's make a promise...One day, when we meet each other again, We’ll stick with each other forever! Pinky Square!”

“Ok!”

Inuyasha glared down at his cereal, as if blaming it for his passing thoughts. But they didn’t go away...

“JA INUYASHA! REMEMBER, YOU PROMISED!”

“Yeah, I remember alright... I’m starting to wish I didn’t though...” He muttered, pouring his half eaten cereal into the sink.

“You’d better remember Inuyasha...”
