Chapter 3, ok, I’m not even done with this story, pretty close to it though. Hope you like this!

Disclaimer: I don’t own Inuyasha, but NEITHER DO YOU!

Yet again, there was ANOTHER awkward silence that settled between them all. Sango was pink, Kagome was biting her lip in nervousness, Inuyasha had an ‘I’m bored’ expression on, and Miroku was...expressionless.

Sango stared at him...and stared....and then stared some more...

“And.... Why should I?” She asked softly, withdrawing her hand from his. He frowned, and seemed to study her for a moment.

“Your right. Why should you? But would you at least ponder it? I’ll give you a week to make your decision. I’ll be back by then.” He said, standing up and looking rather humiliated. Sango had no emotion showing in her face as she watched him turn to leave, sparing her one last glance at the doorway. Sango kept staring at the empty doorway, wondering what she should do.

The Taijiya indeed had a problem. Ryo had been her first love, but not her last. She finally had the guts to admit it to herself then, but not to anyone else. I....I had started to like Miroku.... more than just.... a friend... But what do I do? I a week Ryo will come back, wanting my answer, and I can’t think of anything to say. Nothing. If I accept the proposal.... Then I lose Miroku.... wait, what am I talking about!? It’s not as if I ever had him in the first place! He hits on so many woman that I probably don’t even have a chance! But.... What if I do? What if I have some remotely small chance... And I blow it and spend the rest of my life unhappily...

Sango got warped out of her thoughts when she felt a warm hand on her shoulder. She looked up to see the object of her thoughts smiling down at her. She blushed slightly as he sat down next to her.

“It’s alright Lady-Sango. I’m sure you’ll think of the right decision.” He said, sending her another smile, but this one seemed meek. Sango looked down guiltily.

“Miroku, I-”

“You should get some sleep now. You have a lot to think about and a good nights sleep will do you good.” He said, walking over to the wall by the fire and settling down.

Sango frowned and sighed, lying down into the sleeping bag that Kagome had generously provided her.

She did indeed have a lot of things to think about.

“Do you think they’ll be alright Inuyasha?” Kagome asked from beside him on the stairs to the hut. Inuyasha mumbled something and looked at the sky.

“I thought they had a good chance, but now that this guy has appeared out of no where, I don’t know what’s going to happen...”

Another unintelligible mutter.

“What do you think Sango will do? Do you think she’s developed feelings for Miroku? Or do you think that she’ll go off with this Ryo person?”

Grumble, grumble.

“I hope she leaves that guy in the dust!” Kagome stated.

Un-interoperable noise

“INUYASHA! Are you listening?!” Kagome demanded, poking his shoulder.

“Huh...?” Inuyasha blinked turning to her.

“Ugh!” Kagome groaned, whapping the side of his head.

“Wench! What did you do that for!?”

“You weren’t listening!”

*blink*

“Was I supposed to be?”

“Forget it, Inuyasha.” She grumbled, bringing her feet up to her chest and hugging her knees, glaring at the air in front of her. Inuyasha frowned, and looked at her.

“Kagome... After that guy came, did you still sense the Shikon Shard?” He asked softly. Kagome looked thoughtful for a moment and frowned.

“Actually... I forgot all about it.” She said laughing nervously. Inuyasha made a face and grumbled something.

“I don’t trust that guy.” He said after a few minutes.

“Me neither.” Kagome agreed.

“Something about him bothers me, and I’m gonna find out!” Inuyasha declared, standing up. Kagome blinked.

“What are you gonna do? Track him down? Follow his scent?” Kagome asked in humor.

“Yup.”

“...”

“He couldn’t of gone to far, he left shortly, I’ll be back no later than midnight.” he said, walking into the forest.

“But what about us!?”

“Don’t worry. The monks here, you’ll be fine.” Inuyasha informed, vanishing from sight. Kagome sighed and began to walk inside.

“Dumb dog.” she muttered, giggling soon afterwards.
