On Sunday, 9/21/03 at 8:00AM, KURDISTAN players entered the field to warm-up for the game while fans filling the stands at Juanita HS. At 9:00AM whistle billowed and the game started, INTER with the ball.
Both teams came into the field energized and ready to win. The game was mostly played in the middle of the field because both teams were playing good defense. Almost to the end of first half, 39th min, INTER had a free kick just couple yards a way from the 18-yard box. About 5 KURDISTAN players created a wall to block the shot. When INTER forward took the shot the ball went over the wall, going straight to the far upper-left corner of the goal. Sulaiman Salim dove, but it was impossible for him to save the ball. At 39th minute, the score changed to 0-1; INTER with the lead. KURDISTAN didn't give up the first half just yet. Two minutes into the extra time, 47th minute, Sulaiman Sulaiman scored the first goal and the game was tied 1-1 before going to half time. Omer Salar had the assist.
Going into the second half, all players were fresh once more and ready for another battle of soccer! Just like the first half, the game was strong and it was played mostly in the middle of the field. On 66th minute, Ahmed Nawzad gave a long cross, from the middle of the field, to Sulaiman Sulaiman at the 18-yard box. Sulaiman controlled the ball, shot and scored! KURDISTAN was leading the game at 66th minute for the first time. After the second goal, Sulaiman changed his position and moved to defense. INTER put an extremely tough pressure on KURDISTAN to score for the tie. On 77th minute, Sulaiman shoved opponents forward inside the box giving them a penalty kick. INTER-captain took the shot and luckily he hit over the bar. After 90 minutes of play KURDISTAN survived and came up with a "W" to end the game.
