Bush Administration Assures Protection Of Kurds

The Kurdish delegation which consists of KDP's Hoshiar Zebari and PUK's Barham Salih,
continues its meetings with American officials in Washington. On the 22nd of this month,
they met with US President's Advisor for Middle East Affairs Bruce Rydeal in the White
House. The visiting delegation explained to the American officials their needs for continued
US safeguard against Saddam's forces and preservation of the Kurdish shares of revenues
from oil sales in accordance with the U.N. Resolution 986. On their part, US officials
assured the Kurdish delegation of Bush Administration's determination to protect the
Kurdish people in Iraqi Kurdistan against any attack by Saddam's regime and also of its
support to preserve Kurdish revenues from the sale of oil.
