Sources at Turkish Foreign Ministry have told Al-Hayat ( London based Arabic newspaper)
that Masoud Barzani has been invited to visit Turkey to discuss the latest developments in
Iraqi Kurdistan.  Mr. Massoud Barzani has accepted this invitation and plans to visit Turkey
at end of this month ( April).
 
The invitation came following announcement of a deal between the two main Kurdish
parties to end their disputes and to call  a general election in Iraqi Kurdistan.
 
Expressing dissatisfaction with the deal between the KDP and PUK, the Turkish government
and media have launched a negative campaign against Barzani.  In particular, the Turkish
Foreign Ministry has expressed its uneasiness and annoyance for the visit by a joint
KDP-PUK delegation to Washington for talks with American officials without pre briefing
Turkey about the nature of these talks.
