The PUK-controlled radio stated on Saturday March 14, 98 that
the Iraqi government has ordered the deportation of thousands of
Kurds from the Kurdish city of Kirkuk.
"The Saddam regime has given some 1862 Kurdish families living
in Kirkuk, April 15, 98 as a deadline to leave their home town," said

The PUK has issued a statement on Wednesday 11/3/98 regarding
the the expulsion of the Kurds from Kirkuk by Iraqi government.
The Reuters reported on March 11, 98 that an Iraqi opposition
source said that the Iraqi government had been deporting Kurds from
its cities for some time and said many families had already arrived
in the
Iraqi Kurdistan cities of Arbil and Sulaymaniyah.

Baghdad.
