| Is it just me or has the world gotten ruder and ruder as time goes by? I can't remeber the number of times I've held the door open for someone and not even received a thank you, or nearly gotten hit by the door because the person in front of me just let go. It's not just the older generation, which to be truthful can be sometimes be more polite then the younger generation, everywhere people are rude and it seems to me as if the next generation of kids are going to be rude too. You're all probably wondering where this came from well let me explain it to you. My mom, sister and me went to the movies today. They went to see "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen" while i went to see "Barbershop 2" and since there was a half hour gap between their movie and mine i had time to kill so I went to play DDR. Now I'm not the best DDR player and i'll admit it, I am also a pretty nice and patient person, when I want to be so this will explain some stuff I'm about to say. So I go into their little arcade area and see these two girls already playing DDR so I'm like "well I'll just wait for them to get off, I go and play some other video games while they play another two games. When they leave I get on and pay and the whole thing. I play one song, only one song people and one of the girls comes back, and her first words to me are "it's my turn now" to be honest I was a little surprised but i told her "no I still have a couple of songs left" then she says "you get four songs on this machine" and i'm like "ok but it's still my turn" and this is when she starts on this whole speel that she has to go soon and can she just play because her dad's waiting and blah blah blah so i'm like "ok fine" because i'm not gonna argue with a little girl and because i'm trying to be nice here, so she gets on and plays a song which she fails which i don't really mind, i still have three tokens in my pocket so I can play again so i'm thinking she's gonna get off and let me play but no she puts in her tokens so she can now play another game!! She didn't ask if I wanted to play next or anything, she didn't even seem to notice that i was waiting for her to get off, and to top things off i couldn't wait for her to get off because my movie was about to start soon and I still hadn't gotten my snacks. and if she was going to play a full game anyway she could've waited till I got off since I probably would've failed the next song anyway the thoughts going through my head as i walked out were "you little brat, you weren't in a hurry to go, you obviously lied to me and pretty much took my money" i swear if that girl was related to me in anyway I would've smacked her upside the head. I mean how dare she! Here I am being nice to her and she takes advantage of my kindness! this is why sometimes i think being a nice person is highly overrated. I just want you people to remember this though, the reason the world stinks now a days is because people only care about themselves if we actually thought about others and were nice to them we wouldn't have so many problems all i'm saying is be nice to the people around you even if they've been mean before and before you do something rude to another person think about whether you would like that person to do it to you. Think before you react or just try to be courteous, I don't know if you people out there will listen to me but i hope you do because well just imagine how much better the world would be if people were kinder to each other. please I'm asking you to just be kinder to one another and think about the feelings of others it would do this world alot of good and well everyone would just be happier......... damn when did i get so sappy? | ||
