| Chapter 8 Acro held the unconscious Sam under his armpit. He watched as her brown hair fell in front of her face. She looked like an innocent and he could feel a sensation swelling up inside his chest. It was as though just looking at her made him crazy inside and he thought, Curse this human body. It feels too much passion. A weakness that needs to be destroyed. He turned his glance away from her flawless face and continued on through the portal. Swarms of bright reds, oranges, purples, and blacks covered the two of them. Within the walls of the great circle, battling and screaming rang through Sams ears. She moaned slightly and opened her brown eyes. She was startled to see nothing beneath her feet except bright and dark colors. She looked up and found herself in the arms of a strange man. She looked ahead of them and all she saw was electricity zipping through and around them as well as an opening, which seemed as though it would never end. Acro looked down at her again and found her awake. He grinned within himself and gripped her tighter. Sam felt him tighten around her waist and she finally found it within herself to fight back. With her free arms she swung at his legs and thighs. Let go of me! she shouted. Acro was becoming annoyed with her now; he swung her around and held her by the throat in front of him. Sam grabbed onto his wrists as he tightened his grip around her throat. Calm yourself human. Your pain and suffering has barley begun. I need you to help me find the blue. Sams eyes widened at his words and she stopped moving for a moment. Acros lips curled at the ends. So, you have heard of the blue. Your dream no doubt was of the future, that means you know where the blue is. Sam didnt know what to make of what he said. Her dreams? The future? What did all this mean? She had to get away from him and quickly. He reached out to touch her forehead. She felt a jolt of electricity fly through her mind and she gritted her teeth. Dont worry, this wont hurt for long. I just want to know where the blue is located. Which world, demon, or human is it located in? He pushed down harder and forced more pain into her mind. Sam let out a ghastly scream. Her body was on fire, her veins felt as though they would explode. She could take nothing more and without warning reached around and clawed at Acro, striking him several times in the head and face. The top half of his cloak fell off to reveal a human face. JJack? What- You little wench, Ill make you pay for that. Acro turned his head to the side to reveal a small scratch made by Sams nails. Acro slapped her across the face, tightened his choking grip, and used more force than before to read her thoughts. Again Sam screamed, but she would not be taken like this. She thought if Jack were truly Jack, then he would have one weakness. She managed to pull her leg back and swing her knee into his groin. Acro, let out a cry like nothing she ever heard before, he loosened his grip and dropped her. Sam fell, and hit the inner circle of the portal and was shocked harder than ever. Electricity surged through her body causing wounds to open up and let loose more electricity. She passed out and her body fell through a small space that opened. Acro reached for her, but was too late. Sam was swallowed up in the portal and there was no telling where or when she would come back out. Odeda fell into the portal and held fast to her leg. Blood poured out of her ankle and through her fingers. She gritted her teeth and tried to find something to stop the bleeding. She reached behind for her backpack, but to her shock, it was not there. She figured that it must have fallen off when she fought the two demons back. wait, where was she? Odeda looked around to see where she had jumped. Her mouth was agape as she saw all colors around her. She was taken in by the contrast and depth of the whole thing. She shuddered when she heard the sounds of men and women screaming. It was as though a war was taking place. Then she realized. This must be a portal of time. Suddenly she saw a white whole open and her body began to move quickly through the portal. The speed at which she traveled pushed back on her face. She put her arms up in front of her to brace for any contact. She knew that whatever was on the other side, was going to hurt, and badly. She was spit out of the portal with such a force that her landing knocked over three trees. On a hill not too far away, eyes watched as what appeared to be a bullet shot out of an opening in the sky. It was late at night or so Odeda thought. She managed to turn herself over onto her back, but was in such pain she screamed. How could she still be alive after what just happened? After a few moments the pain lessened and she looked around. She was in the woods and the trees were taller than before. She tried to stand, but the pain was unbearable. Her left arm still hurt from being thrown into the tree by Acro, Jack in disguise. Her stomach was in knots and her ankle was either badly sprained or broken. What should I do now and where am I? She heard noises coming from around all sides of her. Odeda focused and was able to stand on one foot at least. She reached out and held onto a tree, then slowly moved forward a couple of inches. She didnt get very far before an arrow hit just next to her eye. Odeda froze; she didnt know what to do? Tears formed in her eyes as she slowly turned to go the other way. Another arrow landed just past her chin. A demon stepped out of the bushes, another arrow aimed for her heart. Dont move girl. Youll make for an excellent dinner. Please help me. Can you tell me where I am? The creature stopped for a moment and looked the girl up and down. She was not from around her. She wore strange garments that covered all her legs and a piece of cloth, which showed half of her stomach, a most delicious stomach at that. Her hair was in knots and made her look like a demon not of this world. You are here in the Crying Mountains. What? Please I have to get back to my friend. Odeda took a step toward the creature, but he immediately held up the bow and arrow again. He pulled back on the string and let go. Odeda closed her eyes and feared for the worst. Just before her chest, the arrow stood frozen in front. A hand was holding the arrow, and then broke it in two. The hand leads to a sleeveless arm and the arm to a neck. Odeda dare not go any further. Leave now demon, or be breakfast for my dragons. The voice was low, yet demanding. It sent shivers up Odedas spine and all throughout her body. Half frightened the demon dropped his bow and fled in a hurry. What ever saved her had control or perhaps this demon wanted her for itself. Odeda looked at the face of yet another demon. She stood speechless and didnt notice that she was backing away from it. The demon turned and looked down at Odeda, its eyes glowing yellow; the opposite of her dream. The demon took one step towards her and Odeda took a stand. Dont come any closer. Im warning you. The demon came closer still until Odeda, without warning, attacked the demon in front of her. A grin crossed the lips of the demon as he thwarted her attack easily. A high kick was nothing and he grabbed onto her ankle. Odedas eyes widened. Where did I learn his from? The demon threw her leg back down and punched her in the jaw. Odeda went flying into yet another tree. Her head rang with pain. She reached behind to rub her head as the demon approached her and picked her up by the throat. She and it were at eye level. His yellow eyes seared into her as she found herself becoming dizzy all of a sudden. Please. She managed. I have to get back tomy friend. What makes you think I have any interest in helping you? A kick to the demons stomach came as a shock to the demon and he dropped Odeda. With as much composure as she could muster Odeda ran for her life. She didnt know where she would go, but she just had to get away. It was only moments later that she found herself running into the chest plate of the same demon that held her moments before and she fell backward. They were clear and out in the open, a horrible place to be at this time. The moonlight showed the face to the demon that had hunted her down and she sat there surprised to see whom she saw. Sesshomaru? The demon stood puzzled as to how the human knew his name so well. How do you know me human? I see you all the time onwhere am I and what have you done with my friend? You are in no position to ask me questions. Answer me! How do you know me? Odeda was scared and she did not know how to respond. How could she explain that she jumped through a time loop after seeing her friend kidnapped by a man she thought she knew and after fighting two of the ugliest demons ever created, and end up here, not knowing where she was, and how she was going to get back to Sam? She didnt know how. Then Sesshomaru looked upon Odeda with harsh eyes. What Odeda did not realize was that all her thoughts had caused an aura around her just like the one before Acro attacked her. Sesshomaru realized then who she was and knelt down in front of her. His body towered over her even in kneeling position and Odeda was intimidated. Her body began to overheat and her eyes were becoming heavy. Sesshomaru grabbed onto her shoulders and shook her. Tell me. Have you had any visions? Visions? Answer the question! Ive had nightmares, not visions, but they were just nightmares. Did they hurt? Did you see what you saw and remember it vividly? Yes I- Did you hear a voice- Odeda was tired of this interrogation. She didnt do anything, she just wanted to get back to Sam and at the moment, the demon was making her even more tired. Her head ached, and she needed medical attention. She pulled up enough strength and looked him dead in the eyes pushing back the dreadful glance he gave her. Listen, I dont know who you think you are Sesshomaru, but these questions are not helping me get to my friend any faster. Odeda stood on her own feet, rocking back and forth from pain and exhaustion. You humans are worthless. He stood up and his face was crossed. We are not! I mean I am not! Hmph. Prove that to me then and maybe I will spare your useless life. If this human were really the one that could lead him to the blue then she would have some combat ability, even if she did not know it. The fact that she was a guardian would release some energy she had stored to help her fight. This took Odeda back. Prove what and how? An idea came to mind and she took a couple of steps back just to be sure. Sesshomaru stood watch, never taking his eyes off her. Odeda made a charge at him and swung wildly with her fists. Sesshomaru just moved left and right missing everyone of her throws. Then when he saw the opportunity, he stopped both her arms and sent her falling to the ground again. This time Odeda did not get back up so quickly. She lye there, in the tall green grass thinking about what to do. Sesshomaru wasted not time. He knew that she was weak and began walking back to his castle. Odeda felt horrible. She did not know where on earth Sam was, if she was still on earth and she could not obtain the sympathy of the one true anime character that she had come to respect. Her eyes drifted everywhere until they fell upon a rock. She took the rock in her hand and sat on the forefront of her knees. Sesshomaru! He stopped in his tracks. Dont waste your breath girl. I am finished with you, I leave your fate up to the rest of the monsters out here. Suddenly he heard the sound of a whistle coming at his head and he turned to block the small object, but what he did not anticipate was a hard driven punch to his left jaw. He stammered a bit, and then looked at Odeda, who was now on one knee and moments away from passing out completely. See, I told you that I wasnt weak you big- Odeda fell once more, this time on her hands and then on her face. She was unconscious. Sesshomaru rubbed his jaw and tapped the bottom of his lip. When he pulled his hand away, he noticed a drop of blood. No human had ever gotten that close to him before. Perhaps this human was not what she appeared to be. He looked at her, torn clothes and battered body. How could she look so frail and yet, cause his lip to bleed? She was not human. The blow he gave her earlier should have killed her, but it didnt and she still fought even though she was wounded and near blacking out. He was intrigued and wanted to inspect her more. Without further hesitation Sesshomaru, picked up the unconscious Odeda and began walking back to the castle. He held her body tight, but so as not to hurt her. Her long black braids hung freely, swaying this way and that. If she was who he thought she was, then this was going to be a most enjoyable and long awaited battle for the demon and human world. |
