Chapter 21

Hiei had caught up with Acro and the two were fighting hand to hand.  Odeda lay knocked out, under a tree.  She shivered uncontrollably at a feeling that was cold as ice.  Acro had changed back into the human body he possessed in order to fight full on with Hiei.  With all his might Hiei swung his sword back and forth, but Acro held his ground.  He could sense the animosity Hiei still held for him and used it to cut deeper into his heart.
Whats the matter Hiei, have you gone soft? I take it you didnt like the way I sent her back to you. Yukina was a pretty girl and her boyfriend tried so hard to protect her too. He gave such a stirring speech, that I wanted to make sure the two died together.
Hiei growled and lost all control.  He swung wildly back and forth.  A teardrop fell from his eye and his sword broke Acros sword.  In open terrain, the two faced off.  Hiei was determined to make this Acros last trip back to the mainland.  Acro smirked and Hiei made ready for his last attack, he ran directly at Acro, his sword raised above his head.
This time there will be no return for you Acro. You will pay for what you did to my friends!
Acro did not move, he set his feet firm on the ground and prepared for Hieis attack.  Hiei roared and brought his sword around for the final attack, he was unaware of the blade Acro hide behind his back, blinded with rage and pain.  He threw his sword down, aimed at Acros head and Acro brought out the dagger he pulled out earlier of his calf.  The sound of metal in flesh was the last sound, neither one of the two moved and both stared into each others eyes, both sure he had achieved victory.
You made one mistake.
Whats that?
Never let your emotions get the better of you in battle. He could hear his flesh rip apart as the dagger was taken out through his left side.  Hiei fell to his knees, his eyes looking up at Acro; he fell over on his side, then rolled on his back.  His breath was short and he could feel his vitals slowing.  His body began to feel cold and his face turned a ghastly white, as blood poured out of his body.  There was no hope.  Acro took his leave, dropping the dagger next to Hiei.  He turned toward the tree where he left Odeda, but was left bewildered when he saw that her body was no longer there.  He turned back to Hiei and picked up his almost lifeless body.
Where is she?
Whatswrong Acro? You lost your treasure already? Annoyed he threw Hiei to the ground, back into his own pool of blood.  He turned and transformed back into the best he was before his fight with Hiei.  He stuck his nose in the air and focused his energy on finding Odeda.  He picked up a hint of her power as it slowly returned to her.  She was wounded and her power lye in reserve in order to keep her alive.  Acro trudged his was through the forest; he was determined to take possession of the Lewej, then kill off Odeda and her remaining friends.
Odeda was exhausted.  She could barley go any further and she hoped to life that Hiei and the others were all right.  She began to feel colder and colder as her body pulled her towards a power that was undeniable.  She knew it had to be the Lewej and she could not let Acro find her, or he would find the Lewej as well, then it would all be over.  She rested a bit under a tree, her knees weak and trembling.  Her hands were unsteady, shaking from fear and weariness.
Where are you Sesshomaru? she whispered.  In the distance she heard a ghastly howl and began to move again.  She looked to the sky and saw that the moon was just beginning to rise.  She had been on her feet for most of the day training and fighting half the night.  She took a deep breath and pushed on, the Lewej calling to her.  She could feel Acro getting closer to her.  The demon chased her all throughout the forest, and now she had no place to go. A tree sat just ahead of her and she fell, now crawling to it.  She saw a slight opening in it she pressed harder now, fighting against the force that beckoned to her.  She sighed when she thought she was safe, then cringed when she heard another howl.  She sat in fear when she saw a large shadow.  She thought she would be safe in the trees inner core, but he found her.  She shivered as he approached her.  His eyes burning red, his frame tall, and his hair long like a wild animal.  This was it.  This was the end.  Thunder clashed within the sky as the demon gnashed his teeth at her.  He paused, took attacking position and lashed out at her.  Odeda screamed and then froze as the attack was stopped by a shadow, which lunged out of the bushes nearby.  Odeda could her bodies and bone crushing as Sesshomaru and Acro both hit the ground and slammed into a tree.  Acro was able to shake off the effects faster than Sesshomaru because of his heavy set, animal body.  He reached over and took him by the throat, squeezing so tight, that no air passed through Sesshomarus lungs.
