| Chapter 15 Odeda was awakened this time. She blinked and rubbed her head. Jyaken was standing over her; his glare was that of disgust. No doubt he did not like the idea of having a human around, nor serving one for that matter. Lets go human. Sesshomaru awaits you in the dinning hall. He tugged at her clothes and poked her with his staff. She moaned and turned the opposite direction of him. Jyaken was irritated and began to poke harder. Get up you sorry excuse for a demon, we have to get to the hall before he does, or youll be in big trouble. Odeda was becoming annoyed at the toads persistence in trying to wake her. She did not want to be bothered; rather she wanted to sleep off the after effects of using what she feared most, for the first time. She could feel Jyakens staff digging into her back, harder and harder. She had had enough of this. [KICKED] Jyaken went flying to the other side of the room and Odeda Sat up. Jyaken shook off the after effect of hitting his head on the wall then coward when he saw the fury in Odedas eyes. She got out of the bed and walked over to him. Jyaken tried to run, but she caught the back of his head and picked him up. Please dont do anything to me, I promise you I was just following orders. Lord Sesshomaru wanted me to come and wake you so that you could get something to eat. He only wanted to make sure that you were well. Jyaken kicked and ranted on. Odeda was tired of hearing his voice and clamped his mouth shut with her free hand. She looked Jyaken square in the eyes and stopped moving. She set him back down on the ground, and then nodded for him to lead the way. Jyaken did not waste any time. He quickly guided her down the long halls of the castle. Odeda noticed that they were going in a different direction than before. She saw paintings and elaborate curtains that hung over large doorframes. Why does he have much color here and no place else? Oh you havent seen anything yet. My Lord loves to have his home very warm and decorative. I guess you could call it a hobby of some sort eh hee. She followed the toad down some steps and into another hall. Boy, he sure likes to take the fun out of walking you know? You foolish mortals are all so impatient. This is one of the shortest halls in the castle. Really? Well then I think Sesshomaru needs to rethink the design of his home eh? She giggled lightly as they entered into another room of the castle. In it was a well polished wooden table and chairs along with candles. There were windows, which towered over the whole room. Odeda was at a loss for words. She knew that Sesshomaru had to live pretty well, but she did not expect his home to be so large and grand. I am happy to see that you were able to join me this evening. Sesshomarus voice boomed in the hall. Odeda turned to see him walking in just as Jyaken had sat her down at the table. Jyaken rushed over to Sesshomaru and watched as he took his seat across from her. Sesshomaru met her eyes and Odeda did not back down. Jyaken left the room and Sesshomaru took advantage of this moment. So, now that you arerefreshedwhat can you tell me about your vision? This again, look I have nothing for you. Sam is all that I care about. She crossed her arms. I see. Well, how do you know she is not already dead? Odeda stiffened at his harsh sounding words and looked away from his stare. II cant believe that. She is alive, I cant explain how I know, but I know. You can sense it. Her life force is like a pulse and it beats, so loudly that you can feel the pulse yourself. Odeda looked back at Sesshomaru who now had a smile across his thin lips. He was right. Just like back in the forest, when she thought Sam was losing her life force, she felt her weariness, but that pulse has not stopped beating since she was taken. In fact, it was stronger now. Jyaken returned with two plates. He served Odeda first and then Sesshomaru. She looked down at her plate and almost drooled at what she saw. Chicken, vegetables, and rice, it was like a dream. Sesshomaru never took his eyes off Odeda. He was too preoccupied with finding out the truth, but he watched as she shoveled, chop sticks full of rice and then chicken into her mouth. He watched her the whole time and when she finished, he summoned Jyaken back in to clear their plates. Sesshomaru had not taken one bite or took one sip out of his cup. Odeda figured that she might as well tell him and get it over with. All I saw was a forest, much like the one you found me in, and that there was a demon chasing me. He had red eyes and then he attacked, or at least I think he attacked me. I woke up before anything actually happened. I heard a voice that said, Only a fool uses the blue, but I do not know what the means. She looked back up at Sesshomaru who looked at her with fierce eyes. He made her feel like a child that had done something wrong. Stop starring at me like that. What are you thinking? I am thinking that you could possibly be one of the two guardians of the Blue Lewej. The what? It is a powerful jewel that can give any one demon enough power to rule over any world he or she wants and more. Me? A guardian? But I dont know how to fight or do anything. I- Do you remember earlier this morning when the spirit tried to attack you? Yeah you practically fed me to the thing and I had to use my powers to get rid of it. Odeda stopped. She rethought what she just said, in her head. Then she looked at Sesshomaru and he grinned. Wait, so you are telling me that I have powers and that I am suppose to protect this thing that can give any demon the power to destroy an entire world? Not exactly a world, but a good chunk of it, he can skip over time by opening portals and simply take over lands with all the power hell gain from using the jewel. You, however need training. You are in no shape to fight Acro. Odeda blinked. Who? Acro. He was defeated nearly 50 years ago and sent to a place know as the artic abyss and had his body completely shattered. Before he was sentenced, he swore he would find a way to come back and take revenge. So what does the Lewej have anything to do with it? When he returned, only his spirit was able to escape and so he needs a body in order to survive. He has but two full moons before his spirit is destroyed. He said avoiding her previous question. A human body? He took my friends body. Sesshomaru took his gaze away from her and walked to a window. Odeda was confused, he was mister history one moment, and now he was pleading the fifth. Odeda got up stopped just behind him. Youre not telling me something. Yes, but it would make no difference, there is nothing you can do. Odeda could feel her anger rising. It irked the hell out of her when someone knew something and did not tell her. Sesshomaru was being a punk. Fine then, what do I care, it had nothing to do with me, and I might as well just look out for myself right? Odeda began walking back to the door she entered from. She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw that Sesshomaru had jumped right in front of her. Odeda backed up and then attempted to smack him. He blocked her with a fist and looked at her stands, she was ready for a fight. He took advantage of this and brushed her off, making her lose her balance, and then grabbing her by the collar he spun around and threw her hard enough so that she would want to fight, but not enough to injure her. Odedas arms shook as she got back on her feet. What does he think he is doing? She thought to herself. Why the hell did you do that? Your weak and pathetic, you couldnt help your friend even if you did recognize your full power. His eyes were cold and cut right through Odeda. What? What did you say? Odeda clinched her fist, so hard her nails bit crescents into her skin. Am I making you upset? Shut up! All this time you have been keeping me around just so you could take pleasure in whipping the floor with me! Sesshomaru did not say anything. Instead he took his stand and singled for her to come over and try to get near him. Odeda had reached her peak; she was tired of all these games. She unconsciously took her stand, tears now running down her face. She ran towards him and jumped, Sesshomaru caught her, blocked her punch, and grabbed her by the neck. He squeezed tight enough to get his point across then threw her once more, this time he aimed at the window. Odeda caught her bearing in the air and managed to twist her body around so that her feet landed on either side of the opening. Sesshomaru was taken back. He had not anticipated that her aura would catch on so quickly. Odeda made a hard push off and aimed again at Sesshomaru with a punch. She flew right passed him, but made a small scratch on his left cheek, and then she stood with her back turned, waiting for his response. When she didnt hear anything, she turned and found him at her throat once more. He threw punches at her faster than lightning, then with his tail grabbed her leg and threw her to the floor. Odeda hit the ground with such force she let out and small yelp. Sesshomaru picked her up by the collar once more and put her eye to eye with him. Give up, your friend is dead and you have no strength to beat me, so how could you expect to beat Acro? She heard him clearly, but something was not right. His tone was too soft, then it hit her, he was helping her. He was trying to make her stronger so that she could fight Acro and find her friend. Sesshomaru squeezed harder and Odeda could barley breath. You are weak! Show me your full strength or die human. Odeda gave him a cheap shot to his stomach and he dropped her, then she cartwheeled backwards kicking him in the face. She felt well aware of her powers now, as well as her flexibility. Sesshomaru stood awaiting her next attack, but she stood there instead and closed her eyes. Odeda focused on all that was around her. She could feel energy flowing all through her body. Sesshomaru waited to see what she was going to do next. Odeda lifted her head high toward the ceiling and Sesshomaru felt the ground beneath him shake. She was now drawing into her body what seemed to be electricity; around her arms light pink scars formed themselves all the way down to her wrists in a winding manner. She looked at Sesshomaru now ready to attack him with everything she had, and she did. She aimed her arms at him and bolts of lightning came shooting out the palms of her hands. She missed Sesshomaru though. The lightning simply went to the right and left of him. He just grinned, then flew at her with an elbow to the stomach. Odeda flew backwards, but caught her ground and fired at him again. She shot everywhere as he jumped and glided all over the room. He laughed at her. Is this all you have, come on, I know you can hit me. Was he supporting her? Odeda concentrated harder and waited a bit. Then with all the strength she could muster she clapped her hands together and made a large ball of electricity that shot straight at Sesshomaru. He was not expecting such a big move from her just yet and he almost could not dodge it. He was struck in the shoulder and hit a wall so hard, he left his own body imprint. He was taken by surprise to see her standing over him with her arm pointed right at him. He smiled devilishly. So, you do have it in you to be a guardian. He sat up slowly and Odeda put her hand down. Sesshomaru stood all the way up, towering over her, and Odeda threw her arms around him. Her body was shaking terribly from all that she had done, and she cried. Her eyes returned to normal again and her scars disappeared, but on her forehead appeared the mark of a guardian. The second guardian had been revealed and Acro would soon seek her out. Sesshomaru was overwhelmed by all this and thought that she would be thankful, but then he thought, perhaps being rough on her was not the way to go, but then how else was she to reach her highest energy level? Youre ready. He whispered. The two of them stood in the broken, smashed in, dinning room, wrapped in one anothers embrace. Sesshomaru could not help but feel for her. She have proven to him more than once that she was strong enough to take a blow from him and think through a situation, enough that is, to shoot large balls of lightning at her enemies. He could not imagine not knowing who or what he was and then realizing it in a way that caused him to put his life on the line. He had awakened her strength and now all she had to do was wait. The Lewej would revel itself to her soon and that is when she will be put to the test. Her work will begin. Sesshomaru looked down at the sobbing Odeda. He took her chin in his hands and wiped away falling tears. |
