| Chapter 13 Kurama sat puzzled and confused. So let me get this straight. You can see us on television and you know all our weakness and strengths? Sam nodded her head I reply. Hiei just hissed and folded his arms. She is an enemy. I say we get rid of her now and continue on our mission to close those portals. Sam sat up at the word. What? What is it? Kurama put his hand on her shoulder. I remember falling through one of the portals. I wasshocked and tortured by this demon, no a friend, Acro, Jack, I dont know. Slow down Sam. Speak Slowly and tell us what happened. I dont remember much, but the last thing I saw was Odeda being thrown into a tree and then I blacked out. When I woke up, I was inside the portal with a man that looked like a boy I knew from school. He used his hand to send what felt like electricity in my body. He said that he wanted to find theLewej? And I have heard voices saying, only a fool uses the blue. Kurama and Hiei stood in puzzlement. Could it be? What? Sam asked. Hiei walked over to Sam and kneeled by her side. He looked her dead in the eye. Sam, the guy you just described is over 100 years old. His name is Acro. It was said that he was banished to the artic abyss where his skin and body were frozen, even broken into a million pieces. Now if he has come back, then your friend is being used in his sick game and he is after the Lewej. You mean Jack is not really evil? Kurama stepped in. No, he is not evil. Acro needs a body in order for his spirit to live, but if he does not reach the Lewej within two full moons, then he will disappear forever, but But? But what? If Acro is still inside the body of your friend, then he will die as well. Sam could feel tears coming on again. This was getting too hard for her. Suddenly Kurama jumped up. What is it? How rude of me. I have been asking you questions and have not even asked if you wanted to take a bath as to freshen up a bit. Please accept my apologies. That is quite alright. I accept your apology, but it would do me no good, I have no other clothes to wear. That should not be a problem. Hiei and I will find some clothes for you. Hiei scowled at the idea of shopping for a woman. Just make yourself at home and we will be back soon. I wonder though? Hiei looked at Sam. She shuddered. What are you thinking Hiei? If Acro is using her to find the Lewej, that must mean that she is a guardian of some type. She is the only one of us to have had a dream of actually seeing it. She knows where it is hidden. But I told you I dont know where it is hidden. Yes you do, you just dont know it, because you have not trained yourself, but you do have some other power within that has yet to be released. Now that you mention it, I remember that I could talk to my friend without actually speaking to her. Kurama looked stunned. So you are telopathetic and you have the ability to heal yourself. Sounds like a guardian to me. What do you meana guardian? Your job is to protect the Lewej and if your friend heard you then that means that she too has some kind of power, the question is, how do we bring it out of you and help you harness that power? This is so much to understand. Well snap out of it. You have a job to do and if Acro is able to take his revenge, kiss your world goodbye. Hiei, that is no way to talk to her. She had been through enough to have us come in and force her to learn her powers in less than five days. Sam listened to what they said and she thought of Odeda. She missed her so much, the way she would climb trees, the way she would get so silent just staring out at the ocean, and they way she could be so random and make Sam laugh. She had to get back to her somehow, and if fighting were what it took, then she would do it. Ill do it. Do you hear me I said I will do it? Kurama and Hiei looked at Sam. I have to get back to my friend and if I have to risk my life doing so then so be it, but firsthow about that bath you so kindly offered me Kurama? Kurama nodded his head and showed her the way, giving Sam a towel and soap. Take as much time as you need Sam. Hiei and I will find you something to wear and then we can start training, if you feel up to it? Oh Im up to it, and thanks for being so understanding Kurama. She smiled a kind, diaphanous smile up at him, and then closed the door. When Kurama heard the sound of running water, he and Hiei went out to look for some clothes. Hiei could not get it off his mind that the portals were still opening and Kurama was more worried about getting some wannabe demon clothing. For all they knew, she could really be a spy from the other side. He pouted and mumbled under his breath the whole time they shopped. All they had enough for were two outfits. They brought back a pair of loose dark blue pants, a light blue shirt and a black sleeveless jacket. Sam was enjoying her nice warm bath. She still couldnt help but think where Odeda was and if she was safe. She tried several times like before to speak to her through her mind, but she was getting nothing but more headaches. She closed her eyes and sank deeper into the tub. The tips of her hair dampened and she felt at piece in the water. She felt as though her body were not a part of the world at all. She sensed something in the water. She felt another body swimming near her, someone she was familiar with. Sam turned her head this was and that as images came racing to her. She saw bricks and steam; there was a body in the water, with dark hair, and brown eyes. She could see it clearly. The body called out to her. Samcome to me SamI need you now. Sam opened her eyes and jerked forward. She looked around and saw nothing. She listened, but heard nothing. Odeda? Could she still be alive? Sam climbed out of the tub and let the water drain. She wrapped herself in one of the towels Kurama gave her and looked in the mirror. She shook her head to clear the thoughts she had, but when she opened her eyes again, she saw what Kurama and Hiei had seen. Her eyes were a dark purple and she looked like a monster. Intrigued she took advantage of the situation and began focusing her attention. When nothing happened she tried to move her hand around, but nothing came of that. Now frustrated she slapped her hands against the counter top of the bathroom and began to cry. Ill never get it. I cant do this, who am I kidding? I am not a fighter. At these words her hand began to glow a purple color. She lifted them and stared, out of nowhere a small portal opened in front of her, she focused and reached inside. She stood; mouth agape, at what she had pulled out, a dagger. The portal closed shortly after she pulled out the dagger. Sam smiled, and the purple in her eyes faded away to reveal her natural brown eyes again. I can do this. Sam finished drying off and heard Kurama and Hiei return. She waited until a light knock came to the door. Sam, we have your clothes andwe bought you some under garments as well, hope you like them. Sam took a deep breath and sighed. They bought me underwear too? How embarrassing. She thought to herself. Sam opened the door slightly and Kurama stuck the clothes in. Sam almost fainted when she saw the lace and bows on the underwear. What am I six? She thought again. Thank you so much Kurama-chan. I promise to pay you back some how. Think nothing of it, really. Sam took the clothes and closed the door. She quickly got dressed then came out and went downstairs. The house was stunning. All the furniture was arranged so elegantly and looked so perfect. Nothing was out of place. The kitchen was not too big, but not too small. She found Kurama making her a hot meal, rice, shrimp, and chopped carrots. The smell made Sam want to jump over Kurama and dig right in. Ah I see the clothes fit you. Good. Yes they are just fine thank you. So when do I begin training? Right after you eat. I cant have you training on an empty stomach now can I? Sam blushed again and Kurama smiled |
