| Chapter 10 The students had packed up the rest of the equipment and food. Martin and Robert were still concerned. Neither, Odeda, Sam, or Jack had returned after last night. The professor went off to look for them and gave the rest of the group orders to get back to school. Robert and Martin stayed behind anyway while the rest went back to the campus. They probably wanted to get lost. One student boasted. Yeah who knows, they were all freaks anyway, they are more than likely off flirting with one another. Another student yelled back while getting into his car. Robert and Martin refused to believe that. Jack was an idiot, but he was not stupid. He knew the wood as a dangerous place to go. There was not telling what was out there. The professor returned soon after the last car pulled away. It was just the three of them now. Where could those three have run off to? This is not like them. With all do respect sir, I think that we should perhaps alert the authorities. Robert had a worried expression on his face. The professor eyed the boys carefully. No I think we best get going they can make it back to campus on their own. Besides, they have a car dont they? No sir, we all drove up here together and we wont leave without them. Martin had a crossed look on his face. Thats too bad boys, you should taken my heed and gone back. A deep voice boomed from behind the professor. Suddenly a thin lining was visible. It lead from the side of the professors neck and behind some brush. The professor fell suddenly onto the round, blood rushing out of his neck, eyes, and mouth. Martin and Robert jumped back. What the hell is going on? Robert felt sick to his stomach, as laughter surrounded them. Suddenly a monster of some sort let itself be seen. Both men jumped back as they saw the hideous creature. The flesh on its face, was wearing thin, barley there, and it was hunched over as though it were wounded. Robert turned and ran, but came to a stop when another one of the creatures jumped in front of him. This one is cute Divad, can I have him? Hailahk grabbed his shoulders and smelled Robert, her drool dripping into his face and running down his shirt. Robert was getting sicker by the minute. The smell of the creature made his stomach turn knots and his legs weaken. Martin stood his ground. What have you done to our friends? Divad looked at the human as though he could not speak a word of English. Martin made an attempt to attack the monster with a punch to the face, but was left in shock when he saw that the monster had stopped him and in the same instant, ripped off his arm. Martin stood in shock. His mind still had not registered what had just happened. Robert began to get teary eyed, as the monster in front of him spun him around and cut him in the back of the head. He fell and tried the crawl away, but she jumped on him immediately and began licking the back of his head. His blood is so fresh. I love it when they are scared, wouldnt you agree Divad? She had covered Roberts whole body; slowly making more cuts on his head, neck and then his back. Divad limped over to the now kneeling Martin. Petrified Martin let out one more cry before the demon, with one quick swipe of his hand, chopped off his head. Robert let out a scream and Hailahk bit into his neck, sucking out his blood. Her nails clawed into his back and ribs as she squeezed every last drop of blood out of him. The two demons feasted on the flesh of the young men and the professor, satisfying their craving for blood. When finished, they buried the bodies in a shallow grave and left, back into the wood, to await an opening in a portal. Acro was waiting for them. |
