My name is Alison (Ali) and I'm 29 yrs old. I have been married for 7 1/2 yrs now to a wonderful man named Jamie (Jim). We knew each other in high school but never dated...he was actually dating a good friend of mine at the time. LOL! It wasn't until a year after I graduated that we saw each other again and he asked me out on a date. We dated about 8 mos. and he proposed...and I said yes! About a year later, we were married.
We have 2 adorable boys named Nathan & Nicolas. Nathan is 5 1/2 yrs old and Nicolas is 4 yrs old....they are only 14 mos. apart! What was I thinking?? LOL! It was a challenge the first 6 mos...I didn't think I would ever be able to get out of the house. It took me forever just to get to the grocery store! LOL! Now, they are the best of friends and things are a little easier. Everyone asks me if they are twins because they look so much alike....however, they have totally different personalities. This makes things interesting! LOL!
As for me, I am a SAHM (well, sort of!) and absolutely love it! I can't imagine everything I would miss if I was working full-time. A little over a year ago I became an aerobic instructor at our recreation center. I was teaching 2 classes a week & filling in whenever needed. In April 2002, I took my certification test & passed! Since then, I was hired to teach at another community center once a week. This brought me up to teaching about 3 times a week. Well, a couple of weeks ago, I took on yet another challenge as the aerobic coordinator and am now up to about 5-6 classes a week plus my duties as the coordinator! This makes life crazy sometimes but I love it and I actually get paid to work out! Not to mention it is so much fun!!
Because I took on more classes, I had to make a hard decision and give up my position as children's coordinator at our church. However, I am still teaching pre-k/kindergarten sunday school and co-directed VBS this year.
As you are probably have guessed, I love to keep busy...the more the better! I find that I get a lot more done when I'm extremely busy. I guess it's because I really have to manage my time and none of it's ever wasted. When I'm not as busy, I do enjoy lots of different things. Some of them are country decorating...I love to change rooms around, crafting, watching movies (Julia Roberts is my favorite!), working on my websites, getting together with friends and family and of course, just relaxing!
Some of my favorite things are primitives, candles (especially grubbies!), koalas, the color hunter green, birdhouses and all kinds of sports. I also love to go shopping and go to craft shows when I have time.
