How many times have you said this to your kids? Or maybe you've said, "Go to the time out chair." Well, have you ever wished YOU could go to the time out chair?? LOL! I know I have many times. That's what this page is for...to give you some ideas on how to take time out for yourself. As a SAHM of 2 very active boys, I hardly had time to get the house cleaned let alone sit down for 10 minutes. Then I started thinking...what about time for mommy? Well, if your resume reads something like below, then this page is for you!
WANTED:
Very energetic woman who is available 24 hours a day to perform the following:
Prepare food for a variety of tastes that is visually appealing and can be eaten without a spoon or fork; wash, fluff, fold and put away laundry; act as a companion and playmate on demand; the ability to be creative at all times; appointment scheduler; and taxi driver.

Here are just a few ideas to get you started. Please be sure to bookmark so you can come back for more. I will be updating at least once a month!
Taking Time Out!
Take a short break
Create a fun board using a piece of corkboard & decorating it with ribbon, buttons, etc. Use push pins to hang pictures of family and friends, favorite quotes, funny jokes, etc. When you feel like you just need a break, look at your fun board and enjoy!
Be Silly
Find an old shoebox or any small box & decorate it with wrapping paper, old wallpaper or any type of pretty paper. Fill it with markers, paper, a slinky or ball. When you're having "one of those days," take 5 minutes to open the box and just be silly! This will help to take your mind off things and when the 5 minutes is up, you will be ready to get back to what you were doing.
Create a "Did It" list
Instead of a "To Do" list, make a "Did It" list of all the things you have done for the day. You will be relaxed knowing you have accomplished something.
Exercise
When you're feeling stressed, exercise is one of the best remedies! Take a brisk walk around the block or do some sit-ups. Even using your kid's jump rope for a minute will do the trick!
