1. Make it a team effort.Talk to your child about the new school & possibly set up a tour. If you were given a handbook, go over it with your child.

3. Encourage school involvement. Encourage participation in activities that interest your child.
4. Early to bed, early to rise. Help make getting up for school easier by starting his/her school-year sleep routine a week or two in advance.
5. Take a trial run. Take some time before the start of school to make sure you and your child know where to go and what to do on that first morning.
6. Stock up on supplies. Make sure you or your child finds out what school supplies and materials are required.
7. Prepare the night before. Help prepare as much as you can the night before, including outfits, lunch and any other supplies they may need.
8. Get a healthy start. Make a scrumptious breakfast for that first day and the following days!
9. Accompany your little one. If your child seems really nervous on that first day, offer to take her/him to school. If they say they'd rather go on the bus, by all means oblige.
10. Introduce Sometimes children are shy...especially to a new teacher. You may want to go into the classroom and introduce your child to their teacher.
