/Guilty Conscience/
/Chapter 10/
Marshall and Murry had rode the bus to DeShauns house, but the guys werent there. They walked over to Joeys, who lived a few blocks down, and no one was there either. Murry suggested they were at Denauns, but Marshall didnt feel like looking for them anymore, he just wanted to relax, and since they were near to Murrys house, they went back there.
Murry opened her front door, and held it for Marshall, who walked in behind her and closed it on his way. Her house was small, but not to small. It was an okay size for the amount of people that lived in it. Downstairs was a kitchen, a living room, a dining room with a large table that was cluttered with things all over it, obviously they didnt use it. Marshall had actually never seen them use it, probably years ago was the last time they ate off it.
"You have DeShauns hat?" Marshall picked the hat up off the kitchen table, and looked at it.
"Oh yeah," Murry grabbed it. "I forgot to give it back to him..." She nodded and started walking towards the stairs in the corner of the kitchen. Marshall followed, looking around.
"Hey!" Murry jumped back in surprise as she saw her mother come from the livingroom. "Hello Marshall..."
"Hi." Marshall smiled at Murrys mom.
"Hi Mom." Murry sighed.
"Your grandmothers here..." She said, staring at Murry in her eyes.
"Really?" Murry smiled. She loved her grandmother, but then her smile slowly faded. "Wait... does that mean.... hes here too?"
"Murry..." Her mother sighed and shook her head, but said nothing else as Murry opened her mouth to talk.
"Miranda!" Her grandmother suddenly appeared beside her mom, and Murry smiled and stepped down, and around Marshall, to hug her. "So good to see you!" Her grandmother said happily, standing back and looking at her granddaughter, hands on Murrys shoulders. "Your so tall, oh, my baby."
Murry hugged her grandmother again and stepped back, putting her hands in her pockets and rocking on her heels. "Hey Grammy."
"And whos this?" She grinned at Marshall, and Murry glanced at him, then back at her grandmother.
"This is Marshall." She said matter of factly.
"Oh, your boyfriend?" Her grammy winked.
"Um, no." Murry blushed, she could feel Marshalls eyes burning into the side of her cheek, she didnt even need to look at her.
"Oh, well," She shrugged. "I was hoping." Her grandmother turned around abruptly, hearing her name being called by Murrys father, and she walked back into the room, to see what he wanted.
Murry glared at her mother, and shook her head. "I cant believe she brought him...."
"Theyre married..." Her mother defended.
"Yeah. Whatever." Murry shook her head and started back up the stairs, followed closely by Marshall.
"Murry," Her mother said, stopping her in her tracks. Marshall stopped suddenly, inches from walking right into her. Murry raised an eyebrow in question. "Arent you going to come and say hi?"
"I already said hi." Murry said coldly, and jogged up the rest of the stairs, Marshall at her heels.

"Is Marshall here?" Kim said, as DeShaun opened the door to her with one hand, the other hand stuffing his face with a slice of pizza.
"Why?" He asked, with a mouthful.
"Because.... I want to know if my boyfriend is here..." She said slowly, giving DeShaun a funny look and shrugging. "Why not?"
Ignoring her question he rolled his eyes. "No, hey Shaun, what up Shaun, how are YOU doing Shaun?" He raised an eyebrow and took another bite.
"Um... Hey, whats up how are you doing, where is my boyfriend?" Kim said quickly, emphasizing the "where is my boyfriend" part of the sentence.
"Why?" DeShaun asked again, shifting his weight from one leg to the other.
"Why?" Kim shook her head and sighed exasperatedly. "Are you gonna let me in?"
"That depends..." He said matter of factly.
"On?"
"How good you are at kissing my ass?" DeShaun smirked.
"Quit fucking around. Is he here or not? I need to talk to him."
"About what?"
"NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS. IS HE HERE?" Kim wanted to punch him, she was so annoyed.
"Nope." DeShaun said, shaking his head. He grinned at Kim, who narrowed her eyes.
"All that for nothing?" She shook her head and bit her bottom lip. "You have something stuck in your teeth... peice of sauce or something..." She said, as if it was a sidenote.
DeShauns hand immediatly shot to his mouth to cover his teeth. He watched Kim turn around and hop down the stairs. "BYE KIM!" He yelled, walking into his house and closing the door behind him. "Fuckin physco..." He muttered, jumping onto the livingroom couch in front of the tv.
------- Later that Night------
"Im so, bored..." Murry said, closing her bedroom door and tossing a can of soda to Marshall, who was laying on his stomach on the floor, looking at some pictures Murry had. Murry looked down, and climbed onto her bed, sitting crosslegged at the end, looking over the edge at the pictures Marshall was looking at.
"Im not, these are fuckin, hilarious." Marshall grinned.
"Ah I know," She opened her can and took a sip, almost spitting it out when he held up a picture for her to see. It was him, last year, his hair was poofy and big, and he was wearing a pink shirt. "Oh god..." She laughed. "Thats my favorite."
"Yeah yeah," He shook his head and put it at the bottom of the pile, looking at one of Murry, himself, DeShaun and Matt. DeShaun and Matt were sitting on the couch, Murry was on DeShauns lap, arms around his neck, kissing his cheek while the picture was being taken, and Marshall was yawning, watching the picture get taken, so it looked like. "Look at this one," he held it up and she smiled.
"I like that one alot." She smiled and took it from his hand. "Its cute!"
"Ive never seen alot of these..." He said, flipping through a few that hes already seen, and coming across one of her and Kim, their faces close together, both with huge smiles. It looked like Kim was holding the camera out in front of them to take the picture. He smiled. They were both relaly beautiful. Especially in this picture, for some reason.
"Yeah, theyre pretty cute," She handed the pic she had taken, back to him and he put it at the bottom, coming across one of DeShaun, laying on a couch, it looked to be at Matts house, one arm hanging off the edge, mouth wide open, drueling, and he started laughing.
"DeShauns a riot..." He shook his head. "Oh god, this is such blackmail."
"Hmm." She hummed happily. "I have alot of blackmail on him." She smiled. "Some serious shit!"
"Really?!" Marshall grinned and looked up at her. "I bet he tells me more than he tells you."
"Well..." Murry shrugged. "Im his best GIRL friend, and your his best GUY friend. I think we know almost the same, and if not, we know equally as much different stuff."
"Oh yeah?" Marshall raised an eyebrow. "You know Raven on the cosby show? Olivia... thats her name on the show."
"Yeah?" Murry smirked. "He watches it JUST for her."
Marshall made a face and tried to think of something that Murry probably didnt know about DeShaun, desperate to prove that he knew more shit on him.
"Oh oh, Do you work with a girl named Brittany, at work?" Murry asked, eyes wide.
"Yeah..." Marshall said, raising an eyebrow. This sounded new.... "Why?"
"He likes her." Murry said, matter of factly. "But he doesnt want anyone to know, because hes scared to talk to her."
Marshall rolled his eyes. "He likes Denise too."
"He likes both." Murry confirmed.
"Nah uh," Marshall shook his head.
"Yes, he does." She said, and took a sip from her soda as if that made it defiant.
"Whatever..." Marshall sighed.
"OH OH OH!" Murry giggled. "Sometimes, in the mornings, he roams around his house with a bedsheet over his head, asking his mom to make him blueberry pancakes!"
Marshall grinned at the thought. The sad thing was, he could picture that. "Hes a scream."
"I know," Murry laughed. "I love him!"
"Haha." Marshall stood up, and set the pictures on the dresser beside him. It was almost One AM, and he was getting tired. "Im fuckin exhausted. Hardly any sleep last night, worked all day today.. man I think Im fuckin still hungover." He said, taking a sip of his soda and setting it on the dresser beside the pictures.
"I dont know," Murry shrugged. "Wanna go to bed then?"
"Yeah, I dont care." He nodded. "Where am I sleeping?" He asked, looking around.
"Um, we dont really have like, an extra bed or anything..." She shrugged.
"Do you want me to sleep on the floor?" He asked, looking down. She watched him, and shook her head. She didnt want him to sleep on the floor, she wanted him to sleep with her... Although nothing could happen. But just as friends, would be nice...
"You dont have to." She said. Oh yeah, like she was going to invite Marshall Mathers into her bed? No.
"Um..." Marshall looked around uncomfortably. "I guess Ill just-"
"Theres room up here... for both of us, if you- I mean, you know..." Murry looked down at the mattress. "So....yeah."
"Alright." Marshall said quietly. "I, uh, okay." He cleared his throat and she got up off the bed, pulling back the sheets for him. He nodded his thanks and she smiled weakly.
"Im going to the bathroom, Ill be back." She said, opening her bedroom door, and walking slowly down the dark hallway.
She hated her house at night, it was creepy, and it always felt like someone was staring at her, the whole time. She flicked the bathroom light on, closed the door, did what she needed to do, and flicked the light off, starting down the dark hallway again, towards her bedroom, and Marshall.
She couldnt believe he was actually going to sleep in her bed...with her. But nothing would happen, of course. Nothing could happen. Could it? No, she wouldnt do that to Kim, and if he ever did, she would kick his ass. So then it was settled. Nothing was going to happen.
She looked up as she stepped into the lighted room, and saw him, in a teeshirt and boxers laying on the bed. Her steps faultered, and she flicked the light off, closing her bedroom door. Nothing, was going to happen.
Marshall watched her walk closer to the bed, and she took her pants off so she was in boxers and a shirt, as was he. He licked his lips and felt the mattress move from her weight, as little as that may be. Nothing was going to happen, he assured himself, as he felt her arm brush against his, and quickly be pulled back.
Well this was just awkward. Murry thought, sighing and staring at the ceiling. It was dark, but there was enough street lights outside so that she could clearly see him, and she knew he could see her. What the FUCK, she thought, rolling onto her side to face him.
"Hey, Murry?" Marshall cleared his throat.
"Yeah?" Murry asked, sounding disheartened.
"You think Im gonna be big someday?" He asked.
She blinked. Wow, not what she expected. "Aww, hunny," She cooed. "You know, its not the size of the wave... its the motion in the ocean."
Marshall narrowed his eyes. "I didnt mean big like... that. Im already- I mean, I dont need- MURRY!" He exclaimed.
"Sorry," She laughed. Now this was getting better. The awkward silence was gone... Just as she thought that, they both went silence. Talk about speaking to soon?
He was looking at her, and she cleared her throat. She could see out of the corner of her eyes, he leaned forward, and she turned her head to face him.
What the fuck was he doing?
He kept leaning in though, despite screaming at himself. She just, looked really hot in this ... uh, street light. Was she, leaning back in towards him? She was! Uh, she was... He nearly felt his lips brush against hers, and his mind began screaming, "KIM! KIM! KIM!" and he pulled away quickly.
She shot back to her side of the bed, and pulled the covers over her, eyes wide. Thank god they didnt kiss- she thought, almost sadly."Gnite," She said quickly.
"Ya," He replied, turning onto his side so that his back was to her. What the fuck was THAT Marshall? He mentally slapped himself.
