/Guilty Consceince/

/Chapter 2/

7:53 that night, found Murry and Matt, trudging down the sidewalk in the dark towards DeShauns house. Everyone was going there, or was already there by now. The afternoons events were blurry to both of them, but it didnt matter. It was just lost time to them, lost time that they didnt have to deal with anyones bullshit, just the drugs, just what they had done while they were on the drugs. Matt felt better about earlier, just having had time to get the shit off his mind, having time to deal with something besides what his life was turning out to be. He was thankful for the change Murry had provided him.

Once they reached DeShauns house, Murry knocked on the door, and saw someone peek through the curtain in the front window. She grinned and looked back at the door as she heard someone yell, "MATT AND MURRY ARE HERE!" From inside the house. A second later, the door was opened by Denine, who was eating a slice of pizza. He stared at them for a second while he chewed his food, and then opened the door wider for them to step in.

"What up?" Matt asked, walking in, in front of Murry.

"Hey, guys," Denine nodded towards the livingroom and swallowed a mouthful of food. "Everyones in there, we still waiting for Joey to get here, hes on his way."

"Okay," Murry grinned at him. He grinned back at her, wondering why she looked so happy. A complete 180 from earlier.

"Aight," He shut the door and watched them walk into the livingroom, before glancing out the window quickly, at nothing in particular, and following them.

The small livingroom was full of people. DeShaun was sitting on the floor in front of the tv, playing some weird nintendo game. Denine walked past them to the armchair, beside him, and took a seat, one foot propped up on the coffee table. Marshall and Kim were on the couch, sitting closely to each other, Marshalls arm around her shoulder, eyes set on her head, turned towards the video game to watch DeShaun as he played. Matt walked over to sit, crosslegged on the floor next to DeShaun. Denise was sitting on a chair next to Denines armchair, holding a soda can, and she stared at Murry as Murry walked in the room.

Deciding to go sit beside Kim on the couch, Murry stepped in front of Deshaun while he played the game, causing a chorus of, "MURRY!" and "GET OUT OF THE FUCKIN WAY" and "FUCK! THANKS ALOT I DIED!"'s coming from DeShaun and Matt. Denine chuckled and DeShaun gave him a warning look to shut up, and Murry smirked.

"Christ you guys, its just a fucking GAME." She rolled her eyes and fell back onto the couch, putting her feet up on the cofee table, opposite Denine, and sitting up breifly to grab a handful of the chips that were on the table in front of her. "Whats up Kim?" She looked at Kim.

Kim shrugged and Murry nodded. Kim was awfully quiet. She had been fine earlier, at the park. But now, she was quiet. And Marshalls eyes never looked away from Kims face. But Kim wouldnt even look at Marshall.

"Yo, can I get a ciggarette?" Murry asked, tapping Kims arm gently.

Kim nodded and pointed to her purse on the table, and Murry looked at her strangely, but proceeded to sit up and rummage through the purse in front of her, looking for Kims ciggarettes.

Once she found the box of Marlboro lights, she opened it and put on in between her lips, and picked up the book of matches on DeShauns table. She lit herself the ciggarette, and tossed the book of matches back onto the table, and replaced the ciggarettes back in Kims purse. She leaned back, grabbing an ashtray before she did so, and looked over at Denise.

"What up Denise?"

"Nothing in the past 2 hours..." Denise trailed off, sighing and crossing her arms.

"Okay..." Murry shrugged. What the fuck was going on here? Everyone was in a bad fucking mood. When the fuck was Joey getting here? She needed him there, so she could give him attitude like everyone was giving her. She smiled at the thought.

"Yo, can I get some pizza?" Matt looked at Denine and Denine nodded.

"Kitchen man," He said, taking another bite.

Matt got up to go into the kitchen, stepping BEHIND DeShaun, carefully.

"Hey, get me one too?" Murry asked, looking up at Matt as he walked past. She was so fucking hungry, it wasnt even funny. She only had like, lunch. If you counted toast as lunch. Matt nodded and continued into the kitchen, to retrieve the pizza for him and Murry.

"Murry, I need to talk to you." Marshall said, finally looked up from Kim.

"Okay?" Murry looked at him expectantly.

"Not right now, not here. Um, can we like, talk somewhere else? Later?" He asked, glancing at Kim as Kim turned to look at him with a dirty look, and then he looked back at Murry and licked his lips. "Its important."

"Sure, Marsh." She said, looking between him and Kim. Kim was giving him a deathlook, that couldnt be good. Not from Kim... Not to Marshall. What the fuck was going on with people? Was it full moon and she didnt know it?

"Here comes Joey," Denise said, looking out the window. Joey was walking up the street, towards DeShauns, hands shoved in his pockets, head down.

"Yes!" Murry cheered. Joey! Finally!

Matt came back with the pizza, handed a slice of cheese to Murry, who thanked him, and Denise got up to open the door for Joey. Once Joey was in the livingroom, he sat down behind DeShaun and Matt, but turned to face Denine, and they talked for a minute, laughing.

Murry frowned. He didnt even say hi to her, thats not like him. Whats everyones problem tonight? She leaned forward to the ashtray and flicked the ciggarette into it, and took another puff of it, before leaning back and taking another bite of pizza. "Hey Joey," She said, swallowing the bite of food.

Joey looked at her, and muttered a weak, "Hi." Before looking straight at the tv, and tapping Matt on the shoulder to tell him something.

"What the fuck is his problem?" Murry said to Kim, quietly.

"I dont know, why the fuck would I know? Hes your best friend." Kim sneered.

"Whoa, okay. That time of the month just starting for you Kim?" She grinned, finding her own joke quite comical.

"Fuck you, Murry." Kim sighed, clearly pissed off, and Marshall looked at Murry, silently warning her that this was definatly not the time to fuck with Kim.

"Murry, stop fucking starting shit," Joey turned around to look at Murry.

"Huh?" Murry raised an eyebrow, quite confused. "Stay out of it, I was just playin around, Kim knows that. Whats your problem?"

"Your my problem." He said simply, glaring at her.

"Guys, stop," DeShaun said, not even glancing away from the tv.

"Why am I your problem? What the FUCK did I do?" Murry asked, sitting up and flicking the ciggarette into the ashtray again.

"Your just fuckin stupid." Joey shrugged.

"What the fuck is up your ass Murry?" Kim looked at her.

"Shut the fuck up, bitch," Murry looked at her like she was insane.

"Hey," Marshall said, looking at Murry warningly. "Cut the shit Murry," He said quietly. "Just fuckin' stop it."

"What?" Murry sighed and stood up, shaking her head. "Fuck all of yas," She said, walking into the kitchen and out the back door, slamming the pizza crust into the trash on her way, ciggarette still in hand.

It was cool outside, not hot, but it was far from cold. Perfect temperature you might say. She sat down on the wooden steps, and looked out over the backyard. It wasnt even a backyard, so much as a cement driveway. A few rusted bikes were in the corner, some trash cans next to them. That was the extent of the scenery. She could hear the traffic from the streets, the occasionally horn honking, brakes screaching. People didnt fucking know how to drive in Detriot. She had road rage, and she wasnt even driving! She wasnt out here for the scenery anyway, what did she care? There could be a big toxic dump in front of her, it wouldnt have changed a thing.

She was still pissed off. What the fuck was everyones problem with her? Joey was being a dick, and she hadnt even had time to say anything to offend him! Kim wasnt talking to ANYONE, it looked like, and DeShaun was just stupid. The only ones in that room who hadnt pissed her off, was Denine, Matt and Marshall. Even Denise had shit to say to her. But Marshall was damn close to making her mad. She didnt do anything, what the FUCK was up everyones ass?

She didnt turn around when she heard the back door open, instead took the last puff of the ciggarette and tossed it down in front of her on the steps, and ground it into the wood with her heel. She closed her eyes briefly and took a deep breath. Guessing game time, she thought as she heard the creaking of the steps behind her. It was going to be either... Denise... or.... DeShaun, or Denine. The only three she suspected would come out. She was betting it was Denine. Since Denise was being a cunt and DeShaun was planted in front of the tv.

She opened her eyes as whoever it was sat beside her, and she stared straight ahead, not even glancing at them. Who ever the fuck it was, she didnt care. She was still pissed off. It was like everyone suddenly had a problem with her for no motherfucking reason, and that wasnt cool. If they wanted to be pissed off at her, she wouldnt care if they had a good reason, or any reason at all. But this was just... retarded.

"Um," It was Marshall. He was sitting beside her, looking at her uncomfortably. "I was sent out here to make sure you didnt hang yourself off the porch... Or cut you down if you did."

Murry looked at him with a surprised face. He was the LAST person she guessed would have come out here, because he said shit like that to people when they were upset. One of these days, he was gonna say that to the wrong person, and they were really gonna hang themselves from the porch. "What the fuck is everyones problem?"

"You, apparently." Marshall shrugged. "I dont know, I think its just Joey that has the problem. Denise and Kim are fighting, or something, I dont know why. So thats why those two are being bitches, and Deshauns just... Yeah... Nintendo."

"Yeah, well fuckin' Joey didnt even say hi to me, and he fuckin' flipped on me for nothing." Murry looked down at the steps. "Hes so fuckin' stupid sometimes."

Marshall shrugged, and exhaled loudly. "Well..." He reached down to pull his pant leg over the top of his shoes, and looked over at her. "What can ya do?"

"I can kick his ass..." She muttered.

He laughed at her. Thats why he loved her, she was just so... Murry. If all girls were like her... well, he wouldnt date. But he loved her anyways. "Your gonna kick Joeys ass? Can I watch?"

"I dont care, sell tickets for all the shits I give." She smiled, and shook her head, staring at the steps. "Wanna go for a walk?"

"A walk where?" He asked, hesitantly.

"I just... wanna smoke." She shrugged.

"You just put one out..." He raised an eyebrow. Chainsmokers... Damn.

"No." She looked at him, and he nodded.

"Ah," He bit his bottom lip. She didnt mean ciggarettes. She meant ... Weed? "You gonna share?" He grinned, teasing her.

"Fine, come with me though." She said, standing up.

"Okay, hold on let me tell them we are goin-"

"No!" She said, grabbing his arm as he stood and turned towards the house. "Tell them we are going to the store or something... I dont want Joey getting even more pissy at me."

"Aight." He agreed and opened the backdoor. "HEY!" He yelled into the kitchen. "ME AND MURRY IS RUNNIN' UP TO THE STORE RIGHT QUICK, BE BACK IN 15." He shut the door and hopped down the steps, and followed her out around the front of the house.
