Bonjour!
I am currently employed as a Doctoral student at the Swiss Federal Institute of Techology(EPFL), Lausanne, Switzerland. I did my Masters in Systems Science and Automation from the Electrical Engineering Department at the Indian Institute of Science ,Bangalore (India). I did my Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from Jadavpur University , Kolkata.I am originally from Siliguri, in the foothills of the Himalayas.


My final year Master's project was on "Foreground-Background Segmentation and Object Tracking for Video Surveillance Applications". My advisor was Prof. K.R.Ramakrishnan of the Electrical Engineering Department, IISc.
Broadly, my Research interests are Computer Vision, Image Processing, Digital Signal Compression and Pattern Recognition.

I am an amateur violinist, with elementary training in both Indian and Western Classical music. I love playing chess and cricket. The intricacies of the former game and the scope it lends for improvisations enthralls me immensely. I enjoy reading books on popular science and science fiction stuff.
