As I sit there in the sand,
I let the grains flow through my hands.
It is now that I await the tide,
To slowly creep right by my side.
The tide’s been all my life so low,
Yet I always knew that it would show.
I feel the water on my toes,
And somehow feel I know it knows.
It is now time,
The wave now mine,
It rises strong and tall,
Embracing me as if I’d fall.
The tide and I are now like one,
And I am glad it has been done.
Through all the years of tears and fears,
The time ahead seems very clear.
And now together will we be,
The wave and I, eternally.
