My phone rang.. late night on 21st of January. It was Saroj on the line. "Our plan has cancelled, the driver ran away!", he said. So disappointing!... We had planned to go to Daman on 22nd. We had convinced many of the few friends in hostel who had stayed in this winter, to go to Daman. I thought this year too I/we wouldn't be able to play in the snow. In fact most of us hadn't seen snow before. That night it rained.. we thought it had snowed there. Next day Shyam dai and Dipesh(Bob) made another plan to visit "Mude"(On the way to Jiri from Dhulikhel). Bob called me that night,"We're going to Mude on 25th.. tell others too, who are intrested." Though some guys didn't agree this time .. finally we were 16 students (includng 4 gals), Holla Sir and his friend along with their family and.. a couple of Shyam dai!!.
On 25th Eukesh, Deepak the Hawa(with V.camera of course!), Manoj, Guyton(Sudeep) and few other friends came very early morning. I wore a huge jacket( In fact UsPale insisted me to).. it was hot!! Although bus came a little late.. we set off at about quarter to 8. More than 85 kms travelled for 3 hours. As usual, we played 'Aantakchari'. It has always been fun playing aantakchari when we travel for hours. Snapping some picturesque himalayan range we finally reached there. There was very little snow in Mude 0 KM . We had our morning food there and went up a little higher. So much of snow... we hadn't imagined it before. We played there in the untouched snow-land till we got it all ruined. We rolled over, hit others with snow-ball, made snow-man, practiced snow-ball catching with sensational dives (hope, it'll help us in cricket match!). We were like small children away from home playing blind. It was great fun.. I guess it isn't wrong if I use the superlative term there. We got all wet from top to bottom. I wish I could play more but the sun was going down, and we had to get back to hostel by evening. Moreover, we got tired too. I slept in the bus. My socks was wet too. I hung them on the curtain hooks.. luckily they dried before we got off the bus. It was already 5 in the evening when we reached the hostel.
It is one of the most memorable day in my life.Uspal said that he saw snow all around him when he closed his eyes to sleep. I got really tired.. I can still feel it ..Ouch!! my body!!
If time favours we shall go to the snow next year too... and hopefully none of us will miss the fun.
